❜ ─ NARRATOR'S POV─ ❛

Today is D-day of I-land and right now Kala just finished loading her bags in the car with the help of her cousin. She also loaded a bag full of snacks that her auntie Emilia told her to bring with her even though she already explained multiple times that there will be food given to her, her auntie just wanted to make sure her beloved niece is well taken care of. She agreed in order to not make her auntie Emilia worried.

" Take care, love bug " her eldest cousin that she's currently living with, Calvin reminded her, his voice softening. "Call us if anything happens, alright?"

Kala, almost fifteen and already a veteran of countless farewells, offered him a reassuring nod. "Yes, oppa, I will! You too. And please, tell the others I'll be okay. If anything happens, you'll be the first to know"

Calvin pulled her into a quick, tight hug. "Well then, you better get going now or you'll be late. See you soon, lovebug. Love you!"

"See you soon, love you!" She echoed, sliding into the cool embrace of the car's interior. As the car pulled away, the cityscape slowly melted into the familiar greens of the Korean countryside, a two-hour journey to what felt like another lifetime.
