<< THE NEXT DAY......
⎯⎯ ୨ THIRD PERSON'S ୧ ⎯⎯
The room was silent except for the rhythmic ticking of the wall clock. Kala sat cross-legged on the plush rug in the center of her living room, absently flipping through a notebook filled with lyrics she'd never finished. The weight of the previous day hung heavy over her like a storm cloud. She tried to steady her breathing, focusing on the mundane motion of turning pages, but her mind was already bracing for the inevitable storm.
The sound of the front door creaking open made her heart drop. She didn't need to look up to know who it was—she'd given them the passcode long ago, back when trust between them was unshakable.
"Kala," a voice broke the silence. Deep and firm. Seonghwa.
She raised her eyes slowly to meet his. He stood in the doorway with his group members—Ateez—all of them wearing the same mixture of worry, anger, and exhaustion on their faces.
"Oppa" she greeted softly, her voice devoid of its usual brightness. "What brings you here?"
"What brings us here?" Seonghwa repeated, his voice trembling with barely restrained frustration. "Do you really have to ask?"
San, standing just behind Seonghwa, stepped forward, his voice gentler but no less firm. "We need to talk. Now."
Kala swallowed hard and set the notebook aside. She nodded toward the couch. "Sit."
