Prologue

Just in case you didn't read the description, there are no ships in this book :)

"Come on, Traveler, let's hurry up!" Paimon said as she flew right in front of Lumine. "At the rate we're going, we'll never reach Sumeru!"

"I'm trying my best, Paimon." Lumine said with a small roll of her eyes. "We'd probably get there faster if you help me defeat the enemies blocking our path."

"Um...hehe?" Paimon laughed awkwardly with a sheepish smile.

"Don't steal Venti's line." Lumine teased. 

"I'm no-look out!" with that sentence, Paimon hid and left Lumine to take care of the five hilichurls, two mitachurls, and one hydro abyss mage in front of them. It seems that they accidentally walked into their camp and disturbed their lunch. Silently releasing a sigh of exhaustion, Lumine took out her sword and quickly defeated the enemies.

"You're getting better at fighting, Traveler!" Paimon praised as she appeared besides Lumine. 

"Thanks." Lumine said with a small smile, hiding her sword again before putting on a thinking face. "Still, I wonder why there's so many hilichurls scattered around here. It's only been an hour and we bumped into eight camps already."

"That's true." Paimon agreed. "Paimon has never seen this happen before. Maybe today's a special day for them?"

"What will they eve-aahhhh!!!" Lumine paused mid-sentence, screaming in surprise as the ground disappeared which made her and Paimon fall to wherever it will lead them, hopefully not to their deaths. 

"Traveler, if this is the end, Paimon wants to say she's sorry for eating the last Adeptus' Temptation and lying to you that a pyro slime burned it!" Paimon's apologies were the last thing Lumine heard before everything went black.

"-ler, wake up!" a familiar sweet-sounding voice entered Lumine's ears as she let out a silent groan, slowly opening her eyes to see a blurry figure. Blinking, her sight became clear and she was able to see the face of a relieved Barbara. 

"Barbara?" Lumine asked in confusion while holding her head with her right hand, feeling groggy as she sat up. "Everyone? What happened? Why are you all here?"

"Traveler!" before Barbara or anyone else could answer, Lumine was hugged by Paimon in the face, slightly suffocating her.

"Paimon, get off!" Lumine said as she tried removing Paimon from her face.

"There, there, we don't want the traveler to suffocate to death, right?" a smooth voice said as she felt someone pulling Paimon away from her. 

"Thanks, Kaeya." Lumine said as she inhaled some air she was depraved of seconds ago. "But back to my question, where are we? Because the last thing I remember, I was alone with Paimon heading to Sumeru and not with you all in wherever this place is."

"We don't know, Traveler." Albedo said as he approached her with Sucrose who was looking warily at the number of people surrounding Lumine. "I've asked all of the people here or at least those visible and they all said the same thing - they fell down in a hole that mysteriously appeared below them and blacked out."

"Are we sure this isn't an attack planned by the Fatui?" Lumine asked with furrowed brows. "And what do you mean by 'those visible?'"

"He means those people that aren't behind those large curtains." Childe said as he appeared behind her with Zhongli, pointing at the other side of the room where four different colored curtains, each with their respective nation's symbol printed in the middle, were. "And this isn't done by the Fatui, Girlie. If it is, then I wasn't informed at all."
