GROWTH“YEAH, SORRY JIN-WOO, but something urgent came up. I’ll be back in 5 to 7 days, but make sure to take care of yourself and not push too hard, kay?” Chaerin asked, worried out of her mind as she packed her belongings.
“Hey, it’s all right. Take your time. You already helped me enough by helping me to get to know the system!” Jin-woo laughed, trying to not make him sound too disappointed.
“Are you sure? I’ll try to be back earlier, but there’s an urgent matter for me to handle at Japan. I’ll make sure to keep in touch with you, bye!”
“I know you’ll do great, don’t worry about me. Take care!”
‘Hah.’ Jin-woo glanced at the key in his hand, and proceeded to unlock the dungeon door. It was time for him to get stronger.
-a few days later-
Chaerin walked down the street, her hand in her bomber jacket's pocket. Her knee length skirt fluttered slightly in the breeze. She was wearing thigh high socks with chunky boots. A bag containing raspberry tarts for herself and more sweets for Jin-woo, Jin-ah and Runa were in one hand.
Speaking of which, Runa was in her wolf form, resting on top of Chaerin’s head, invisible to any other eye.
“Ah, should we go surprise them?” Chaerin mumbled thoughtfully, clutching the key to the apartment in her free hand.
“You go, I’ll just go back home. You can summon me if a problem arises,” answered Runa, disappearing into smoke right after her sentence.
Chaerin hummed cheerfully, wondering how much Jin-woo must have grown by now. If her calculations were right, right now would be the time right after the dungeon incident with Hwang's little brother.
‘I wonder how he’s feeling…Jin-woo must have lost a bit of his emotions when he killed them.’
Looking up at the darkening sky, Chaerin speeded up, her train of thought still continuing. ‘I somewhat relate to him. Yes, I’ve killed in my past life…but I had changed long before entering this new one. But still, a situation forced me to kill again. I could also feel myself dying inside as well.’ Chaerin thought back to when she found a group of lizards had killed a close friend of hers who had signed up to participate in a raid.
The feeling of blood felt fresh in her mind. But for some reason, it felt satisfying.
Shaking off her thoughts, Chaerin realized she had reached the door to Jin-woo’s place. Inserting the key, she barged right in.
