HEARTACHE
“CHAERIN, I THINK YOU killed thrice the number I have,” Cha said to the girl with a smile, wiping away her sweat.
Chaerin gave the hunter a close eyed smile, raising a thumbs up. “But you looked wayy better killing them!”
Cha blushed lightly at the compliment. But just then, her face turned serious. She sniffed the air sharply, her eyes narrowing. “It smells like the queen, she's with her bodyguards it seems.”

“I’ll go scout the area,” Baek said, his eyes glowing. After Baek had told everyone the ants’ location, they got in formation. Chaerin got serious, her shoulders tensing as sweat formed on her temples. Baek transformed into his beast form, Choi increased his fire, Cha slashed at the enemies with speed. Everyone fought bravely, taking out the bodyguards one by one. Whenever anyone would get seriously hurt, Byung-Gu would heal them just as quick.
Chaerin wiped a drop of sweat from her forehead, narrowing her eyes at the queen as she took her stance. Glancing over at Hae-in, the two females shared a look.
“On three-“
“One,” Chaerin kicked her feet in the ground, the earth beneath her feet pulsing with raw energy.
“Two,” Hae-in’s hair started floating as golden energy encased her.
“Three!” the two females launched simultaneously at the ant queen, slashing at the monster with precision and finally killing her. They rolled back on the ground, standing up to give each other a small high five. But the ant queen had given out a final cry, making everyone nervous.
“Did we…become the seventh team to clear an S-rank gate?”
“No, the Japanese hunter’s are saying that the ants are coming back. We have to leave!” Hunter Ma announced urgently.
Chaerin tensed, this time from knowing what’s to come. She slowly inched towards the hunters, concentrating on the energy around them and using her aura skill to create a large barrier around them.
“Hunter Hyun, what was that?” Baek asked worriedly, his hair standing up. But an extremely strong presence answered his question, everyone freezing in their spots.
An ant on its two legs appeared, the heavy presence that it emitted increasing and overwhelming everyone except Chaerin. Hae-in fell on the ground, clutching her nose. Chaerin increased the aura in her barrier, walking out of it and towards the ant.
“Hunter Hyun! Wait!” Choi called out but couldn’t escape the barrier. Chaerin looked back at them, grinning cheerfully.
“You guys try to stay alive, I’ll deal with this one.” Then she turned back around to stare down the ant, tilting her head as she did so. “So you’re the latest hatchling, huh?”
