FLASHBACKS

.IT WAS ALMOST MIDNIGHT and Chaerin was jumping from rooftop to rooftop with light, feathery steps, almost making it seem like she was a blur of black flying. Her elegant and calculated footsteps went unheard to even animal's ears, not a single sign of any clumsiness evident in the girl's demeanor.
Whenever it came to being serious, she used her assassin skills to the fullest in the best possible way.
Finally, she reached the hospital's roof, using thread of steel skill to lower herself down on the correct window and jumped inside skillfully. The girl removed her hood, standing next to Jin-woo, who had reached the place not a while ago. They both shared a small glance, then looking at Jin-woo's mother who laid on the bed with a peaceful expression.
Jin-woo slowly opened the bottle of the holy water of life, his hands shaking when he reached down for his mother. Chaerin placed a hand on his shoulder, squeezing him lightly in order to ease his nervousness. Jin-woo took in a deep breath, carefully slipping in the holy water of life in his mother's mouth.
Jin-woo's eyes trailed towards his mother's scar, his memories haunting him just then. His mother's color returned, but she didn't wake up. Jin-woo panicked, shaking with fear and guilt and a torrent of negative emotions.
Chaerin could feel his welling feelings, so she took his hand and kisses his knuckles softly, rubbing his back with her other hand. Jin-woo's shoulders relaxed a bit, the man giving his girlfriend a grateful look. They both sat on chairs, leaning into each other as Chaerin offered comfort to the man she loved, her own past flashing behind her sad eyes.

."M-mama, what happened to y-your face?" a small Chaerin asked with a worried face, tears threatening to stream out because her mother's face was covered in ugly bruises, her lips bleeding awfully. The small child clutched the stuffed toy of a white wolf she had in hand, her lips trembling. "Did d-dad do it?!"
"Shh, it's okay. I'm fine, look?" Yuseul grinned, flexing her thin arms to make her daughter feel better, even if her little movements made her back ache painfully.
