CHANGING THE PLOTLINE
“CREATE LINK WITH CHARACTER SUNG IL-HWAN.”
Chaerin’s body started to feel light, her cells quickly turning into little stars of light before dissolving in air. The girl appeared in front of a ragged man, her body holographic as she had used her astral form to visit the man.
Sensing a new energy, Sung Il-Hwan looked up sharply only to meet his eyes with that of a young woman, who just smiled at him gently.
“Hello, Mr Sung,” Chaerin grinned, leveling herself with him by crouching down, tilting her head as she observed the rugged man.
“Who are you?” he asked in a calm voice, his hand gripping his dagger.
“I’m…your son’s girlfriend…is that how I should introduce myself?” Chaerin said out loud, looking genuinely confused. Shaking her head because Il-Hwan’s face had started to contort into an angered one, she continued.
“I’m Hyun Chaerin, a close friend of your children’s. I’m here to bring you back to South Korea!”
“How can I believe you?” Sung retorted, slowly standing up and staring down at the girl. Chaerin stood back up as well, placing her hands in her pocket as her expression darkened a bit before returning to normal.
“I knew you’d ask that…why don’t I just show you?” Chaerin, without warning, placed a holographic finger on Il-Hwan’s forehead, a strong surge of power moving through her and showing Il-Hwan the memories which showed his family, happy and healthy.
Jin-ah, all grown up, was playfully fighting with Jin-woo, who was also mature and grown up. Kyung-Hye sat on the side, watching the two fight with a smile evident on her face. She was brushing Chaerin’s hair, who was petting a sleepy Runa on her lap.
Sung Il-Hwan started to shake as a blast of emotion overtook him. Oh how he missed his family…
Chaerin pulled back her finger, her eyes which had been glowing now dimmed down to normal. “Do you believe me now?”
“But…Jin-woo is the Monarch of Shadows, I’m supposed to be my son’s enemy. What about the prophesied tragedy-“ Il-Hwan rambled, clutching his messy hair as his body tensed in distress, eyebrows furrowing with worry for his son.
“Then I guess I’ll deal with those annoying Rulers as well!” Chaerin chirped, her eyes glowing once more, her hair floating lightly as well as the girl once again travelled in her astral body.
___________
Bright light surrounded her for a moment before dimming to slowly reveal sharp spears aimed at her, dangerously close, and several tall Rulers towered over her. The one who was the largest in size leaned down at her. “For what reason have you come here, human?”
