DON'T BE SAD
CHAERIN CRASHED IN the hospital room, making both Jin-ho and Jin-woo flinch in surprise, although Jin-ho toppled over and almost fell in fright.
“JIN-WOO YOU’RE AWAKE!” Chaerin threw herself at him who caught her instinctively. The girl nuzzled against his chest, light tears pricking her eyes. “We were so worried.”
“Ah, I’ll leave you both be,” Jin-ho stepped outside with a last wave.
“I’m okay now, I was just exhausted,” Jin-woo assured, kissing his girlfriend’s forehead tenderly. Chaerin hummed at the act of affection, peppering small, feathery kissed on his neck and jaw before pressing a final smooch on his cheek. She gave him a bright smile, her cheeks tinting pink with happiness.
“Get ready, I have a gift for you at home.”

Jin-woo had thought of many things which Chaerin could gift him, most of them involving something rated 18. But what he hadn’t expected was to see his father after 10 years in the living room with his mother and sister as well.
It sure was one heck of a surprise.
Chaerin had to leave both father and son alone for some time whilst she helped Kyung-Hye cook the meal. There was a comfortable silence present in the atmosphere, the two females working harmoniously in the kitchen with small smiles on their faces. Kyung-Hye was the first one to break the silence.
“Chaerin, thank you for all that you’ve done for this family.” The older woman turned to her side, only to see Chaerin staring back with an unreadable expression, tears slowly forming in her eyes. The girl shakily looked back at the pot of vegetables she was stirring, her lower lip trembling as she spoke in a heavy voice.
“It’s nothing, I think of you guys as my own family.” Kyung-Hye noticed that Chaerin’s voice was heavy, thick with bottled emotions. From what she had heard from Jin-ah, Chaerin wasn’t even originally from this world. The only motherly figure she had was now sleeping on the kitchen floor in the form of a wolf. Aside from that, no one, not even Jin-woo, knew of her previous life for Chaerin wished to forget it.
The woman wrapped the young girl in her arms because a motherly instinct had taken over her. Chaerin’s eyes widened slightly in surprise, before lidding with tears collecting and then falling down. Chaerin remained silent while Kyung-Hye rubbed her back, mumbling sweet little whispers of a mother like love that she hadn’t experienced for quite a long time.
The girl didn’t realize how much she craved familial love, her heart seemed to ache in agreement.
“No, thank you.” Chaerin whispered heavily, her throat clogged up with an untold ocean of emotions.
