Chapter 6: Saving the Chancellor

Anakin and Obi-Wan's Jedi FIghters ships raced in space as a whole battle between the armies of the Republic and the Sepratists raged below them.   Anakin had been given the rank of Jedi Master during the Clone Wars.  Although, Anakin liked the title "Knight Skywalker" much better.  Many people respected his wish and called him that.

"Lock onto him R2." said Anakin, "Obi-Wan, I see Count Dooku's ship.  The one that's CRAWLING with vulture droids."

"Well this is going to be easy." said Obi-Wan a bit sarcastically.

Later...

"See, Obi-Wan?" said Anakin as he laughed at his master, "That wasn't so hard."

"Oh, really?" asked Obi-Wan, nearly puking from what he almost went through, "My ship getting constantly stung by buzz droids, you accidentally shooting off my left wing, and both of us almost getting crushed by a door is easy?"

"Yes, of course, Obi-Wan."

"Remind me again how come Ahsoka didn't come with us on this mission?"

Ahsoka Tano was Anakin's padawan.  They were like brother and sister.  She framed for a bombing however by a friend of hers, Barris Offee, she believed that the Jedi werelosing their way of life, becoming Generals of Armies.  Anakin was able to help her see through the darkness and turn her back from the darkside and come back to the lightside.  The Jedi Council believed the unconvicing evidence the minute it pointed to Ahsoka, and it shook her trust with them.  She almost left the Jedi Order, despite them welcoming her back.  Anakin told her that it was the will of the force to have this happen.  Ahsoka stayed after all.  Right now, she and Anakin's 501st legion of clones were on their way to Mandalore.

"Oh, so that's where they were going." said Obi-Wan.

The two Jedi walked in an elevator.  They were at gun-point by a group of droids, who were taken care of really quickly by their lightsabers.  Suddenly, the elevator stopped.

"Elevator stopped." said Obi-Wan, he turned to Anakin, "You pressed the stop button?"

"No, did you?" asked Anakin.

"No."

Obi-Wan took out his comlink.  He told R2-D2 to activate the elevator.  The droid wasn't answering.  Obi-Wan constantly repeated the order.  Suddenly, the elevator began to move, but downwards instead.

"Whoa!" said the two Jedi, "R2!  R2!"

Obi-Wan saw that they were going the wrong way.

"R2, stop the elevator," he said, "we need ot be going up, not down."

The elevator went up.

"Now, that's better." Obi-Wan said sarcastically.

"What was that all about?" asked Anakin as he got up.

"Well, R2 has been-"

"Uh, no loose-wire jokes."

"Did I say anything?"

"He's trying."

"I didn't say anything."

The duo found themselves in a large room as the elevator door opened up.  They saw Chancellor Palpatine chained to a chair.  Anakin started to put his hand on his head.  Ever since his abilities have gotten much stronger, he has been sensing something awfully weird about the Chancellor.  But he shrugged it off.

"You alright, Chancellor Palpatine?" asked Obi-Wan.

"Count Dooku." said Palpatine.

The Jedi turned to see the Sith Lord entering with super droids on both sides.  He jumped over the platform, taking out his lightsaber.

"You're no match for him." said Palpatine, "He's a Sith lord."

"Chancellor Palpatine," said Obi-Wan jokingly, "Sith Lords, are our speciality."

"I'll use form 4 for this." said Anakin as he takes out his dual lightsabers, "Obi-Wan, you block his moves."

"On it, Anakin."

"Your swords, please?" said Count Dooku while he stepped towards the Jedi as they take out their lightsabers, "We don't want to make a mess in front of the Chancellor this time now do we?"

"You won't get away this time, Dooku."

The three force users began to fight.  Anakin and Obi-Wan's technique was going great.  Count Dooku was able to force push them away from each other.  Anakin fought on with Count Dooku as they went up the stairs of the platform near the elevators while Obi-Wan took down the two super droids on his own.  Soon, it was back to 2v1 again.  Count Dooku could feel Anakin's growing power.  He force pushed Anakin into a wall as he choked Obi-Wan.  He threw Obi-Wan onto the floor and force pushed a platform onto him.  Anakin got up and kicked Count Dooku off the platform.  He switched to form 7.  He began to fight with a lot of power.  The two summoned their force lightning, a move they haven't used at the same time since Geonosis.

"I sense hate, anger, and fear in you, Skywalker." said Count Dooku, "But you never use them."

Anakin then had his lightning swoop past Count Dooku's and stunned him long enough to cut off his hands and destroy his lightsaber.  The Sith Lord fell to his knees.  Anakin held his two lightsabers at Count Dooku's neck.

"Good Anakin, good." said Palpatine, "Kill him.  Kill him now."

Count Dooku looked at Palpatine in shock.  He looked back to Anakin

"I shouldn't." said Anakin, "It's not the Jedi way."

"He killed Qui-Gon, Anakin." said Palpatine, looking a bit frustrated, "He's too dangerous to be kept alive."

"True, but he's an unarmed prisoner."

Anakin cut the Chancellor loose and carried Obi-Wan on his back.  Count Dooku remained shocked that even though he killed the closest thing Anakin had to as a father, it was as if the Jedi forgave him.  He followed the Jedi Knight to the elevator.

Later, on Coruscant...

Anakin and Obi-Wan returned.  They took Count Dooku into prison.  Palpatine looked frustrated the whole time they were on their way back.  Soon, Anakin spotted a figure in the shadows, he recognized their presence, he ran in excitement after excusing himself.  He hugged Padme and kissed her.

"Ani!" said the senator, "I'm so glad that you're alright.  There were whispers...that you were killed."

"I'm fine, Padme." Anakin said as he smiled, he suddenly felt Padme shake, "You okay, Padme?  You're trembling."

Padme told Anakin that she was pregnant.  Anakinwas so overjoyed.  He felt so happy for Padme.

"What're we going to do?" Padme asked with a hint of concern in her eyes.

"We're not gonna worry about that," said Anakin, carressing his wife's cheek, "this is a happy moment, the most happiest moment of my life."
