Stay with me through the Darkness

Chapter 7

Hailey woke up the next morning to her mom making breakfast. She usually does not cook unless Hailey has to go to the doctor to see if her cancer has returns. She mainly does it because she gets worried and it help keep her mind off of it.

  "Good morning Hailey. I made you some breakfast." She told her when she called downstairs.

  "Good morning mom. You did not have to cook breakfast. I know you do it when you are nervous." Hailey told her.

  "Of course i am nervous we get to see if your cancer stayed away or not."

  "I know. I hope that it stayed away. I just joined the team again and made new friends. I don't want to be knows as the schools cancer boy again." She tells her as she ate a piece of her pancake.

  "Well maybe you will not have to quit the team this time and im sure they will all still be your friends even if it has returned." She told her.

  "Yeah I know. I just don't want it to be like last time." Hailey said.

  "I'm sure it won't be like last time. This time you have more friends who I am sure will back you the whole time." She told her.

  After they finished eating and they had to head to Haileys appointment. They got there and Hailey started getting more and more nervous. They got called back pretty quickly and had to wait for the doctor.

  "Hello. I am doctor John and I will be your doctor for today. I have to take some blood and then we will see if you are still in remission." The doctor told Hailey.

He drew the the blood and he left. They waited for about thirty minutes before he came back in. When he opened the door he had a sad look on his face and Hailey knew that it was bad news.

  "I am so sorry but it shows that your cancer has returned and this time it is stage four." The doctor said.

  "So it is worse this time?" Her mom asked.

  "Yes ma'am. We are going to schedule an appointment so that we can run some CTs and we are going to see if there is any new tumors that  have formed." He said.

  "Okay when is the appointment?" I asked.

  "I will make it for a week from today." He said.

  "Will I still be able to play soccer. I just joined the team and I don't want to leave." Hailey told him.

  "It will depend on how far it has progressed but I will do everything that I can to make sure that you can stay apart of the team." He said.

  her mom set up the appointment and they left. Her mother decided that she was not going to go back to school today because she was not going to be able to get through the day without getting upset. She decided to tell Lucas that she won't be there.

Hailey: Hey I won't be coming back to school today. I am not feeling too good so my mom said I can just go home.

Lucas: Okay. Are you still going to come over later. Liam is coming over this time.

Hailey: I don't know. If I am feeling better later then I will come over. I don't want to get anyone else sick though.

Lucas: You don't have to worry about getting any of us sick. We will be fine.

Hailey: Okay I will come over if I am feeling better. You need to get back to school now.

Lucas: Okay I will text you after school finishes to see how you are feeling.

 
Hailey: Okay. I will text you after school.

After she finished texting him and her mom was stopping to get some food. She was really not hungry but she still got some food.
