━chapter twelve, ❝he wields the power of a god!❞ 『R E Y N A』

━━━Reyna's feelings are always mixed when she sees her sister. As always, she doesn't know whether to hug her, cry, or slap her across the face and walk away. Of course she loves Hylla. She would've been dead many times over if not for her sister. But their past is beyond complicated.
But she doesn't focus on Hylla━not at the moment. She storms toward Ajax. Two Amazons, who seem to be guarding him in case he somehow escapes, steps in front of her, but Reyna snaps, "Don't be ridiculous."
The look on her face must be murderous because one of them winces and the other trips over their own feet trying to move out of her way.
Reyna takes the earplugs out of his ears. Ajax makes a muffled sound, perhaps a gasp of surprise. She takes off his blindfold. Those big, chocolate brown eyes widen at the sight of her, lighting up.
Several of the Amazons murmur. Hylla says, "Let her."
Reyna rips the duct tape off his mouth and Ajax spits out a gag.
His chest heaves up and down. "Reyna," he says. "Thank the Fates."
"Quiet," she orders him. He shuts his mouth immediately. Reyna turns to her sister. "Unchain him. Now."
Hylla walks around the table. She looks good in her black leather trousers and black vest top. Around her waist glitters a cord of gold labyrinthine links ━ the belt of the Amazon queen. She is twenty-two now, but she could be mistaken for Reyna's twin. They have the same long, dark hair, and the same dark eyes. They even have the same silver ring that symbolizes their mother, Bellona.
The most obvious difference between them is the long, white scar on Hylla's forehead. It has faded over the years. Anyone who didn't know better might've mistaken it for a worry line. But Reyna remembers Hylla got that scar in a duel on board of the pirate ship.
"No other warm words for your sister?" Hylla prompts. "You go straight to him?"
"Thank you for having me abducted," snaps Reyna, "and thank you for kidnapping my boyfriend, chaining him down, blindfolding him, and putting earplugs in his ears."
"And putting duct tape over my mouth," Ajax puts in.
Hylla raises her eyebrows. "Boyfriend?" she repeats. "You have a boyfriend now?"
