i remember when I got my first period, i was eleven.
my sister had a friend over.
I was so horrified of a single drop og blood that i was shaking.
My mother was smoking as she always does.
And when i told her she cried, she told me I'd be a woman now and hugged me.I'm not sure what about that day was so different but I'm sure now
that it was the day our relationship started to crumble.
I lost my mother to the pressure of my womanhood.
