Chapter Nineteen

Chapter Nineteen

Nick:
"They're on their way over here," I say as I put my phone down.
"I'm sorry, I know you wanted to spend this last night together, and we will. But now, I am just SO invested in this," Charlie says excitedly. "He's going to break up with his girlfriend? What do you think happened?"

I laugh.

"I'm not sure but I know we'll find out soon."

Sure enough, two minutes later, Rob and Adam walk through the door.

"Hi guys, OKAY NOW ADAM TELL US EVERYTHING," Robs says.

We look at him confused.

"DUDE would not spill any details until we got here," he says.

Adam smiles.

"You guys are so invested in my life," he teases.
"YOU MADE US THIS WAY," Rob groans. 
"Tell us!" Charlie exclaims as he's hugging his pillow.

Adam sits down on his bed and sighs happily.

"I don't know, I'm not sure if anything really did."
"Bullshit!" Rob screams. "When I saw him with his girlfriend, it definitely didn't seem like he was currently contemplating breaking up with her. Then, all of a sudden, after you two hang out by yourself, he's going to break up with her. So like I said, BULLSHIT."

Charlie and I look at each other and laugh.

"I mean, I did tell him I'm bisexual."

Rob slaps Adam's arm.

"Nothing happened my ass! That's HUGE. I'm so proud of you," Rob says as he hugs Adam quickly.
"Seriously Adam, that's a huge step forward. What did he say?" I ask.
"He wanted to see if I wanted to figure things out with him."
"And what did you say?" Charlie asks as he is quite literally on the edge of his seat.
"I  told him the truth. What if this is the farthest step I take? What if I shutdown again?"
"And he said?" I ask.
"Well he got cut off but basically he said if I'm even willing to give it a shot, I think he wants to too."

Charlie, Rob and I look at each other and try to contain our excitement, as we know this is still a sensitive subject.

"So what do you think you're going to do if he actually breaks up with his girlfriend?"

Adam gets up and starts pacing back and forth.

"I don't know. What should I do?"
"I think you'll regret it if you don't see it through with him. And that doesn't have to mean going out in public right away. Maybe just take some time to see how the two of you feel about each other," Charlie says as he looks at me. "I mean, that way certainly worked for us."
"I'm just worried that I'm going to hurt him if I decide that this isn't something I can do or that I'm ready for."
"I think he's also going to be hurt if you don't give it a shot. So wouldn't you rather try and see where it could potentially go? It may surprise you," I say.

We chat with Adam a bit more and even though he seems really hesitant, I think he's going to slowly give things a shot with Jacob. I'm sure we'll have new developments about it when he comes back tomorrow.

Charlie:
Nick and I get back into bed and put on a movie. I kiss his cheek as he wraps his arm around me. 

"When you come home next weekend, know that you need to spend sometime with Oliver," I say with a smile.

He starts to run his fingers through his hair.

"I think it's insane that you think I wouldn't be spending some time with your family when I come. Especially playing video games with Oliver."
"He asks about you everyday," I say with a smile. "My whole family does, actually."
"Tori asks about me everyday?" He asks sarcastically.
"Okay maybe not Tori," I say with a laugh. "Though she does check in every once in awhile. They love you."
"I love them. The Spring family means an awful lot to me; especially one in particular."
"It's my Dad, isn't it?" I tease.
"It's only fair since you love Nellie more than me," he jokes as he begins to tickle me.
"Nick, stop it!"
"SAY YOU LOVE ME MORE THAN NELLIE!"
"Never!"

Nick continues to tickle me until I roll over and off the bed.

"Thanks for that," I say.
"You could have just said you love me more than Nellie," he says with a shrug.
"I told myself I'd never lie to you and I never will," I say as I hit him with a pillow.

He grabs a pillow and hits me back. I jump onto the bed and throw myself on top of him as I hit him once more.

"I love you so much," I say, looking into his eyes.
"Just not more than Nellie," he says with a smirk.
"Oh, shut up," I say as I kiss him.

He sits himself up but keeps me on top of him as he deepens the kiss. I trace my hands up and down his back before taking off his shirt. The most beautiful man and he is all mine. These are the things I'm going to miss most while we're not around. Nick and I just click, we are two halves of the same soul. These blissful and easy days are going to be few and far in between once he starts Rugby and once I have to start preparing and applying for Uni next year. But if there is one thing I learned these past couple of months, it's that Nick and I can overcome anything. I probably wouldn't have believed that fully if someone would have said that to me awhile ago; but after this summer, I really believe it. That's not to say we won't miss each other, and I'm sure we'll have some arguments; most likely due to the fact that we are actually really just upset that we aren't with each other, but I'm not too worried. There is nothing that we can't handle; we're Nick and Charlie. 

[MEANWHILE - ADAM'S INSTAGRAM DM'S]

Jacob: I broke up with my girlfriend.
Adam: Oh..
Jacob: I know we didn't get to finish our conversation, and I know  that you're still unsure but..
Jacob: I couldn't stay with her after today; not after seeing you and hearing those words.
Adam: Jacob, I'm not even sure what I can give you right now..
Jacob: I'm not proposing to you, crazy. I just think we kind of owe it to ourselves to maybe just... hang out? See if there's even anything...
Jacob: I mean, on my end, just seeing you, there was definitely something for me..
Adam: Me too 
Adam: I'm sorry I'm going back and forth on this..
Adam: I'm just nervous..
Jacob: I think you told me about yourself for a reason..
Adam: I did. And I want to say YES lets just hang out and see where it goes
Adam: But I'm scared
Adam: Tomorrow I could wake up and feel completely differently
Adam: My anxiety has not slowed down since I told Nick
Jacob: Why don't we just take it one day at a time?
Jacob: So, as of today, do you maybe want to hang out alone? In my dorm? Yours?
Adam: Wow, how are you so okay with someone who might change their mind tomorrow?
Jacob: Because I just said that we should just take it one day at a time (:
Adam: Nick is driving Charlie and his friend home tomorrow... We could hang out at my dorm?
Jacob: Okay. And if "tomorrow" Adam doesn't feel like it, just let me know.
Adam: You're being pretty great, you know? (:
Jacob: I'm just excited. See you tomorrow (hopefully)

[I'll probably be doing random "looks" into Adam's phone; or short POVs with him because I'm really excited to write about them. Next chapter will OBVIOUSLY be part Adam's POV because... uhm hello did you not read their messages?! :p ]
