Chapter Thirty Three

Chapter Thirty Three.

[THE NEXT DAY]

Charlie:
Before I even open my eyes, I hear my phone going off every two seconds.

"Stupid group chat," I mumble as I open my eyes and grab my phone.

I look at my phone and see that the group chat is going off and I have some texts from Nick by himself. I look at the ones from Nick first.

Nick: Hey sleepyhead xx
Nick: Adam and Jacob are on their way already. I was thinking maybe we can go bowling or something, maybe catch a movie? Grab some good?
Nick: I talked to Adam and he said we can invite whoever so I'm taking the liberty to invite the whole group
Nick: xxxx

I shake my head smiling. I go to the group chat.

Nick: Hey guys! My roommate up at Uni is coming over here today with his ...friend? boyfriend? I'm honestly not sure if they are labeling anything BUT anyway not the point
Nick: Are you guys free? 
Tara: That sounds like fun! What did you have in mind?
Elle: I've been dying to go ice-skating!
Aled: Tao, ice-skating? But he's SO uncoordinated 
Tao: Which is why I have been PUTTING OFF going ice-skating (:
Darcy: Hah! In that case, ice-skating sounds AMAZING!
Elle: Charlie, are you there?
Nick: My guess is that he's still sleeping :p
Tao: Nick's definitely right. 
Darcy: Probably wore him out since it was your first day seeing him in weeks, isn't that right Nick? (;
Elle: DARCY!
Darcy: ....what?
Nick: I hate you guys 

I couldn't help but laugh.

Charlie: Hey guys...
Charlie: Darcy, you suck.
Dara: Sure, Charlie; I'm the one that sucks 
Tao: THIS IS BECOMING RATED R WAY TOO QUICKLY
Nick: Trying to get us back to our original conversation haha
Nick: Yes to ice-skating?
Nick: Maybe we can see a movie after? And grab dinner?
Tara: Works for me!
Aled: Count me in.
Darcy: Me too!
Tao: If anyone laughs at me while ice-skating, there will be hell to pay.
Tao: But also, I'm in.
Elle: Me too! 
Elle: Will also be laughing at Tao (: 
Tao: Thanks, Elle.
Elle: <3
Charlie: Sounds good to me!
Elle: Laughing at Tao or ice-skating?
Charlie: All of it! :p

I put down my phone and get ready to head to Nick's since Adam and Jacob are already on their way. As I reach Nick's house, I see Adam and Jacob walking out of Adam's car.

"Wow, incredible timing," I say with a laugh.
"Charlie!" Adam says as he walks over and hugs me. "You remember Jacob?"

Jacob waves.

"Yeah, hey!" 

Nick walks outside.

"Hey guys!" He says as he hugs Adam and Jacob. 

He then looks at me.

"Hi."
"Hi," I say with a smile as he pulls me in and kisses me.

Nick:
"I hope you guys don't mind that the activity we all agreed on to do first is ice-skating," I say.
"We all? Did you invite the whole town?" Adam jokes.
"Pretty much," Charlie teases.
"He's lying. Just a couple of our friends. Half of which you've met," I say.
"Funny that you picked ice-skating," Adam says.
"Why funny?" Charlie asks.
"I played ice hockey throughout high school," Jacob says with a smile.
"Oh my god now Tao is really going to hate that we picked this," I say with a laugh.
"Whose Tao?" Jacob asks.
"Elle's boyfriend who is extremely uncoordinated and it most likely going to spend his time falling onto the ice," Charlie says laughing.

We walk inside my house and head up to my room.

"Where's your Mum?" Charlie asks.
"Grocery shopping, she should be back soon. Video games?" I ask.
"Ugh do we have to? Adam groans.
"But you love video games," Jacob says.
"Not when I'm around," Charlie says with a triumph smile.
"Nick told me I wouldn't even be able to beat your brother."

We all laugh.

"He's not wrong. Oliver is pretty good. He'll be better than me soon enough," Charlie says.
"That doesn't make me feel any better," Adam says.

We all play video games until we hear the door open downstairs.

"Mum's here. Going to go help her with the groceries," I say.
"Me too!" Charlie says.
"Us too!" Adam and Jacob say in unison.

We all run downstairs.

"Hey Mum! You know Adam, my room-mate, and this is Jacob," I say.

She smiles.

"Adam, lovely to see you again. Nice to meet you Jacob," she says.

She then walks over and hugs Charlie.

We help her with the groceries and all sit down with her in the kitchen.

"Do you boys have any fun plans today?"
"Ice-skating, then maybe bowling or a movie. Probably going to grab some dinner."
"Okay, I'll set up the air mattress with some blankets just in case you boys come back too late and Adam and Jacob are too tired to drive home."
"Thanks Mum, you're the best!" I say. 

We say goodbye to Mum and head into Adam's car.

"Why do I have to drive?" He asks.
"Because, I invited you here for a nice time and this is how you're going to repay me," I say.
"If I didn't know you both, I'd assume you were brothers with this bickering," Charlie says.
"I guess that's what happens when you live together," Jacob says with a laugh.
"Everyone else is already on their way."
"Okay, lets go!"
