After about thirty minutes of my mother driving and Lilly and Joey singing along to all the SpongeBob songs, we arrived at the most amazing place in the whole world. The place that makes me smile even on my worse days. No, I'm not talking about my bed. I'm talking about Frazier's Pizzeria.
My mom pulled into the parking lot and I almost began bouncing in the seat. She parked the car and looked at me through the rear view mirror.
"Don't strain yourself trying to keep in all the happiness." Mt mom smirked and got out of the van.
Eric released a gasp from beside me.
"No way! This is the best place to ever exist!" He said happily.
"I know!" I said excitedly with him.
"This is my favorite place." He stated, his face completely serious it was funny.
"Mine too."
We all got out of the car and made our way inside. Joey and Lilly had a tight hold in my mother's hand while Eric and I walked behind them. It was completely silent. I was looking down at the ground, the only thing that was interesting at the moment when Eric nudged my shoulder.
I looked up at him questioningly and he pointed to an old lady. Normally I'd think old ladies are cute. They usually are. The only difference between the cute ones and this one is their choice of clothing.
This old lady had shorts that were way too short and wore a shirt that cut way too low. I watched as she turned around and I immediately looked away, not wanting to watch what happened next.
I looked back up at Eric, my face crinkled with disgust due to the view he pointed out to me. I wouldn't have noticed if he didn't show me. I noticed that he had been watching me he whole time, I knew this because he was about to start laughing hard.
"Mom, walk quicker." I demanded so the young ones wouldn't be disturbed either.
"Why is that grandma in her underwear?" Joey asked and pointed at the old lady.
I watched as my mom followed his finger and made a face of pure disgust. She began walking quicker and swatted his arm down so he'd stop pointing.
"Why would you scar my poor eyes with that sight?" I asked as soon as we entered the building, the scent of pizza greeting my nose immediately.
He began laughing really hard, causing a few people to look at him like he was crazy. The sudden noise also caused my mother to look back at us. She even gave us a glare, then acted like we didn't belong to her.
"Great. You just made my own mother disown me." I mumbled, which only fueled his laughter.
I punched Eric in the shoulder and he stopped immediately. He bang rubbing his arm, an act of him faking pain. I rolled my eyes at his overreaction and followed my mom and two children to our table.
There was only room for four people to sit at one table, which would cause one of us to be left alone for dinner. I was about to sit at the only seat left at the table when my mom cleared her throat and nodded in the direction of Eric.
I now know that Eric and I will be sitting together. Just us two. At a restaurant. And we will look like a thing. Just what I wanted. Kidding. That's the last thing I want other people thinking. I already consider him a friend and that's good enough for me.
I huffed out some air and got out of the seat, walking over to where Eric was already sitting. He was at a booth. He has apparently chosen a booth for us to sit in. I rolled my eyes and sat down across from him. The other booths were super close to us. Close enough that we could hold an entire conversation with them, but Eric acted like they didn't even exist.
