"Wake up!" I heard someone shout at me, then felt two hands shaking me.
"Go away!" I yelled and began to swat the hands away from me.
"You'll get ice cream."
I snapped my eyes open and sat straight up. I looked over to my side and saw Heather standing next to my bed. She owes me ice cream! Wait. Why is she waking my up. I thought it would be later that she buys me ice cream. I looked over at my alarm clock and found out that it was two in the afternoon. I didn't think I slept in so late. I must've been really tired!
"I'll be down in ten." I said.
I scrambled up from my bed and pushed Heather out so I could get dressed and ready. I chose a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. Comfortable and I won't look like a bum. That is what I call an accomplishment. I ran out if my room and down the stairs until I reached Heather.
"Ready." I said.
She walked to the front door with me right behind her and then we got into her car. She began to drive down the familiar roads to the ice cream parlor. The ice cream parlor we were going to is a very popular one in our town. Everyone at school goes there, even the kids in the elementary. But the people in my grade overrule them so they end up ordering their ice cream and then leaving.
She pulled into the parking lot that was filled with multiple cars, some familiar. The building has a 50's theme and to be honest, that's one of my favorite parts of this place. She parked close to the doors and we climbed out if her car and headed indoors. I looked around and saw some hot guys in the corner. And when I say hot. I mean hot. The music that plays in here is fairly loud, due to most of the customer's request being the people in my grade, so you pretty much had to yell at each other to even talk.
"THOSE GUYS IN THE CORNER ARE HOTT!" I yelled at Heather and she looked at me wide eyed.
In fact as I began to look around, everyone was wide eyed and staring at me. Then I noticed that I had yelled that sentence at the wrong time. The song was changing to a new one and I had yelled during the silent, awkward moment where the song changes to the next. I felt a blush on my cheeks and just pushed Heather forward.
We both didn't say anything to each other. She knew I was embarrassed and she was embarrassed to be around me. She wasn't going to tease me about this until we were at a less public place, also known as her car. I have named her car Shame because everything I'm ashamed of has been talked about in that car.
We ordered our ice cream and sat as far away as possible from the corner, which was the corner diagonal from them. No way do we want to talk to them during our time here. Heather and I sat at booths, her at one side and me on the other. I made Heather sit on the side where she could see the boys. Even though they were hot, I just want to forget what happened all together and not looking at them will help me.
"Did they hear it?" I asked.
"How could they not?" She said and I groaned.
"They were hot though." She said.
I ate some of ice cream and was about to forget about what happened until I saw a figure out of the corner of my eye. I looked at Heather and she sleazily didn't want me to look. I couldn't resist the urge so I looked up from Heather and saw one of the hot guys from the corner standing in front of our table.
"Hi." He said while looking at me.
"Uh...hi?" I said but sounded more like a question.
"I'm William." He said.
"I'm Malia." I said.
"So... You think I'm hot?" He asked, obviously nervous about something.
"Well, I'm pretty sure that's what I said a little bit too loudly a minute ago." I said.
