The Bite

Eric didn't give me a ride today so I just walked to school. I found his car in the parking lot so he must be at school. I was about to enter the school building until I felt a hand on my shoulder and was spun around.

"Hey!" I yelled thinking someone was going to hurt me.

"Sh! He quite!" Eric said.

"Oh! It's you!" I said.

"Yeah."

"What was up with you yesterday?" I asked and continued my walk inside the building.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, why did you just run away?"

"Oh. Um. I wasn't feeling good."

"Huh. Are you better now?"

"I guess." He said and shrugged his shoulders.

"This may sound weird but I found blood at the spot you were standing at before you left."

"Does sound weird."

"Eric. Were you bleeding?" I stopped walking and looked at him.

"Umm. Fine. Yes. Yes, I was bleeding."

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah fine."

"Why were you bleeding?"

"I went outside while you were on the phone and I think a dog bit me."

"Where?"

"My side."

"Show me."

He did. We walked over to a not crowded hallway and he pulled up his shirt. Under his shirt, the bite wasn't the first thing I noticed. It was his amazing six pack. Then the bite. The bite was covered up with a big bandage so I couldn't see the bite itself but there was blood already seeping through the bandage.

"Do you have another bandage?" I looked up at him and asked.

"Yeah." He said.

He put his shirt back down and began to dig around in his book bag and pulled out another bandage. He pulled the old one off. I had expected to see a bite but there was nothing. No bite and no blood surrounding what was supposed to be the bite.

"Seriously? You pranked me?" I looked at him.

"I don't know what happened..."

"Ugh!" I said and began to walk away.

"I seriously don't know. It was there yesterday!"

"Uh huh. Sure."

I began walking to my first class which, like all classes, are with Eric. I sat down in my seat which was towards the back of the room and Eric sat down next to me. The teacher came into the room and began the boring lesson they had planned for today. Eric began to write something down and as soon as he pulled away from the paper he handed it over to me.

"I know I sound crazy, but I swear there was a bite there last night." Was what the note said. I looked up at him and he was looking at me. I rolled my eyes and he sighed.

I looked back up so I could say I tried to learn something in this class. Soon, but not soon enough, the bell rang and all the students began to rush out of the classroom. I made it out to the hallway and I felt an arm slung across my shoulder. I looked up and saw it was Jase.

"Hey." He said and smiled down at me.

"Hey." I said.

"Are you still coming to the game tonight?"
