Malia P.O.V.
We broke apart hearing a noise and found Heather and Jamie standing there hand in hand. I am greatly confused at the moment. Jase and I both heard Jamie confess to liking me and Jamie saying he doesn't like Heather. So what is happening? They told is they were a couple and as soon as they said that I felt Jase's eyes on me. We just kissed and didn't really get to talk about it. We are going to have to talk about it eventually so why not now? I excused us both and took his hand to lead him upstairs to my room.
We walked up the stairs and it was as of Jase was in a daze. He obviously didn't expect this to happen. But it did and we need to work it out. I didn't even expect this to happen. I guess I was caught up in the moment and decided to act. I'm glad I did because hidden feelings for Jase have surfaced and made their presence known. I closed my door behind us and we both sat down on my bed.
We sat there in silence. I was looking at the floor waiting for Jase to speak first. He's the one who looked like he wanted to talk but I am the one who took the action. Oh well, I'll make him speak first. It will give me more time to think about what I will say during this conversation. I began to play with my fingers when Jase put his hand over both of my hands. Dang! This guy has big hands! I looked up to him and I could tell he was nervous.
"We should probably talk about what happened."
"Probably." I said, agreeing with him.
"I really do like you." He stated.
"I found out that I like you too."
"When did you find that out?" He asked me.
"A few minutes ago." I laughed.
"What did you think about the kiss?"
"I liked it."
"Are we a thing now?"
"Is this your way of asking me to be your girlfriend?"
"It's wimpy, I know."
"Then the answer is yes."
Our idiotic smiles returned and I began to feel happy. Almost as happy as I was when Eric was still here. I realized I actually like liked him and I think it's good that I'm moving on. Sure it's not easy, but I can get through this. I looked out my window and over to his. The room was exactly like he left it. Except his curtains were shut. I wish he was still here with us.
"What's wrong?" Jase asked.
"Nothing. Why?"
"You were frowning."
"Sorry, I just looked out my window and saw his room." I said and looked down.
"It's ok." Jase said and brought me into a hug.
"We can't tell Heather or Jamie yet. They might not like that we became a couple on the same day as them."
"We'll tell them tomorrow."
I shook my head in agreement against his chest. I looked back up at him and we shared on last kiss. We went back downstairs and found Heather and Jase sitting on the couch. Side by side and still holding hands. They are absolutely adorable together! I sat down on the couch and Jase sat down too, but gave me space since we don't want them to know we are a thing yet.
I let out a deep breath and began to think of some things we could do. Turns out, my house is really boring and there isn't much to do around it. Soon Heather stood up and of course Jamie did too.
"It's getting late I should probably leave." Heather said.
"Same here." Jamie said.
"I can drive you home if you'd like. I did bring you here." Jase offered.
"No, I think Heather can take me home. But thanks."
"Yup."
They said bye and walked out if my front door. I saw headlights and the car leaving my house. I looked over at Jase and he smiled at me. He scooted over close to me and slung his arm across my shoulders. I laid my head against his chest and almost fell asleep until I heard the doorbell ring. I go up from my comfortable position and answered it. My mom walked in with her purse in one hand and pizza in the other.
"Hey, mom."
"Hey." She said and made her way to the kitchen.
She put the pizza box on the counter and I took a slice out. The pizza was from the best place ever. Where Eric and I became closer to each other. Where I learned one of the things he doesn't let many know. I shook my head and walked back to the living room. I handed Jase a slice and he greatly took it. After a few more hours, Jase too had to leave and go home.
"Are you dating him?" My mom asked as soon as Jase stepped outside of the house and the door was closed.
"Yes. And so is Heather and Jamie."
"Oh. That's great! I didn't see this coming, really."
"Well, it happened. I'm going to bed. Night."
"Yes it did. And goodnight."
I went back up to my room for what felt like the two hundredth time in a day and changed into sleeping clothes. I brushed my teeth and was about to go to bed when I noticed something about Eric's room. It looked like his bedroom light was on. I felt my eyebrows come together in confusion. I walked over to plug my phone in, thinking that Eric's mother must be in there.
Click. Click. Click.
I looked over at my window. I slowly walked back to the window, wanting to know where the sound was coming from.
Click. Click. Click.
I heard it again. I pulled my window up and looked down at the ground. Someone must be down there throwing something at my window. I saw no one down there. I began to scan the ground for evidence of anyone that might be there. Nothing.
"Look out your widow, genius." I heard a deep voice say.
I obeyed the mysterious voice and looked across and into the other window. Eric's window. What I saw shocked me. My eyes widened and my heart beat began to pick up. A smile found it's way onto my mouth. I looked across and saw the one person I've been missing for a long time. The one person I miss the most.
Eric.
He sat there in plaid pajama pants with a white shirt. His hair disheveled and sticking out in odd directions. He looked tired and stressed but that didn't matter to me at the moment. Eric was here, alive, smirking at me.
