By the time they'd visited three stores, each girl had many bags of clothing on each arm, and Janessa was wondering whether her arms would be able to hold any more clothes.

"Biana, I'm sorry to cut this maybe shorter than you want, but we're gonna have to limit how much more stuff we buy. I'm running out of arm." Janessa deadpanned, wondering how the beautiful girl made carrying so many bulky bags look effortless and, somehow, elegant.

Biana snorted under her breath at the awkward way in which Janessa was walking in order to keep up her swift pace. "Fair enough. We'll just get accessories from now on then."

Janessa huffed, grinning at her friend's determination. "Sure, but after that, we head back to your place so I can stop carrying this around."

"Fine, fine. I'll have to train you to get used to carrying more." Biana agreed with a pensive look on her face. Janessa was almost nervous at the prospect, but decided she'd definitely enjoyed the girls' day more than enough to let Biana choose the activities.

For their final stop of the day, as decided, they went into an accessories store with mostly jewelry.

In awe of all the wealth surrounding her, Janessa opted to look in the hair accessory section where there were more cheaper-looking, though still classy, things. She picked out a few bows and hair ribbons for herself in shades of scarlet, various blues, black, and dark green.

When Biana came over to join her as well, the brunette frowned at Janessa's collection, though she found it cute, and picked out some jewelled hair clips for her in the same colours.

"You don't need to be afraid of our wealth. It's normal in the Lost Cities, and it's more about style than wealth since it isn't worth as much for us." Biana reassured her, holding up several items to her face.

"It's still weird to me though." Janessa was about to continue when Biana gasped, holding up an exquisite hair clip with red and yellow diamonds in the shape of a flame up to her face.

"You have to get it. It's too perfect." Biana breathed, excitement coating her features.

"Don't you think... people would be too upset by the connotation since I'm a pyrokinetic? I don't mind attention that much in general, but I feel like that would bring the wrong kind." Janessa hesitated, though she reached out to hold the clip anyways; it was too beautiful to look away from.

Biana smirked. "Who are you trying to impress with your politics? If it's Dex, don't worry, he would absolutely love it."

Janessa jumped a little, clutching the clip more tightly. "Why would I try to impress Dex?"

Biana's face fell flat and she suddenly saw the resemblance between Janessa and her biological twin, who she thought no one could match in obliviousness. "You are joking, right? After that whole conversation... about trying to be like the best person for him specifically."

"That was just about how he's one of my closest friends and I don't wanna hurt him. I think." Janessa denied, before her own face fell. "See, this is what I mean when I say I don't understand romantic versus platonic affection! Cuz apparently everyone sees one thing, and then I have absolutely no idea what I'm seeing, even though I'm trying really hard to see it objectively!"

Biana sighed. At least she's not pretending there's nothing there at all. That's one thing she has on Sophie in this matter, but then again Sophie is less confused and just actively lying to herself more. Either way, they're both oblivious and they'd better let me say 'I told you so' when I'm right later on. "Ok. That's ok. It's just, really easy to picture the two of you together."
