After Livvy got Amy settled, she led Janessa through the streets of Atlantis on the same path the white-haired girl had taken earlier. They went into the bubble, which launched them in the say, and Livvy held Janessa's hand as she pulled her into the light of her paathfinder.

They arrived at a beautiful beach single-level house in shades of greys and blues which somehow calmed Janessa's nerves upon seeing it.

"Do you want me to come in with you?" Livvy asked.

Her voice felt like a knife and Janessa hugged her arms around her body. "No, I'm fine. You can go back to working with Amy."

Livvy frowned, but did as Janessa asked, squeezing her shoulder once before leaving. Janessa winced, her left shoulder, though mostly healed, remained tender from the ogre bite some months before.

Janessa approached the door of the estate, breathing in the salty air and letting it ground her before knocking.

A stern-looking man with blond hair and ice-blue eyes like Keefe's opened the door and sneered a little when his eyes lingered on her scars.

"I'm assuming you're here for my son?" The man's cold tone almost made Janessa step back.

"Yes. Can I come in?" After a second, Janessa remembered her manners. "Please?"

Lord Sencen sighed and opened the door wider before directing her to Keefe's bedroom.

Janessa walked through the hall and knocked on Keefe's door.

"Ugh just go away already." Keefe groaned.

"Uh, it's me, Janessa." Janessa said, fidgeting nervously at the door.

Janessa heard some hurried footsteps then the door was pulled open and Keefe was standing in front of her, grinning. "Snowflake!"

"Hey Keefe. How you doing?" Janessa shuffled awkwardly.

"Bored out of my mind." Keefe groaned. "How come you're not being busy with everyone else?"

Janessa's face fell. "Well, Mr Forkle doesn't trust me as of now, so I apparently need 'some time' before I can help out again."

Keefe's face became outraged and shocked. "What?! You've been loyal to the Black Swan since you were a kid! How does that make sense?"

The two began making their way into Keefe's room as Janessa started to answer. "Well, since, you know, some lines got a bit— AHHHHH!"

Janessa screamed as she saw an ogre with pink hair enter the room, holding her trembling hands covered in flames in front of her.

"Woah, hey, calm down Snowflake, it's ok. She's my body guard." Keefe said, putting his hands in front of him as if taming a wild animal.

Janessa tried to control her hyperventilation, but the ogre took a step closer to her and her vision blurred.

"Ro! Step back, she's scared of you!" Keefe yelled.

The ogre snorted. "You elves are such sissies. I'm not even doing anything."

Somehow, being called a sissy is what managed to make Janessa's eyesight focus and breathing even out a little. "I'm not a sissy, you jerk. I was attacked by an ogre in Exile who tried to eat me for dinner."

"Okay, and? That's not an excuse for being a wimp." Ro grinned, picking her nails with a dagger.

Janessa glared at her, then looked back at Keefe. "Why the heck do you have an ogre bodyguard?"

"Cuz his mommy asked for him." Ro chuckled teasingly.

Keefe sighed, nodding.

Cautiously moving over to where Keefe was, Janessa sat next to him, keeping an eye on the ogre, although once she had gotten control over the initial panic she felt fine enough.
