By the time Janessa woke up, a day had passed. She was in her bed in Livvy and Quinlin's apartment and Amy was in the chair next to her.

"Hey, Amy."

"Janessa! You're awake." Amy almost sounded sad when she said it.

Janessa looked at her concernedly, reaching out to feel her emotions through the air, her sadness and guilt. "What's wrong, Amy?"

"It's not that I'm... not happy to see you awake. It's just... that means I have to forget now."

"Oh." Janessa looked down at her hands as she felt her own sadness fill her mind. "Was that your choice?"

Amy nodded, the waves of guilt stronger.

"Don't feel guilty, Amy. There's a million reasons why you should, especially to protect your parents." Janessa reassured. "I'll never forget you, though, ok? I'll watch over you like a guardian angel or something if Forkle lets me."

Amy chuckled. "Thanks, Janessa."

Livvy entered the room, smiling when she saw Janessa awake. "I'm glad to see you up, JJ. Drink the elixirs on the table, I'm sure you can figure out the order."

Janessa nodded, chuckling when she realized they were already placed in order.

"Can..." Amy started. "Can Janessa come with me?"

Livvy looked over at Janessa. "If she can stand up without help, of course. If she wants to."

"Of course I will!" Janessa exclaimed, immediately trying to stand up, though the wave of dizziness almost knocked her off her feet. She managed to stay standing for a few seconds before sitting back down. "Uh, can I have a wheelchair?"

Amy smiled gratefully as Livvy nodded, chuckling. "Yeah, I'll try to find you one before... by the end of the day." As she left the room, she called back, "You should let your friends know you're awake, they were really worried."

Janessa smiled, pulling out her Imparter. "You mind if I call a few people."

Amy nodded, sitting patiently back in her chair.

Janessa hailed Biana first, who looked perfectly healthy, aside from the barely visible scars. All in all, she'd made it out of the accident shockingly well. Aside from being slightly pale, it seemed Janessa looked fine too.

Next up was Dex.

"Nessie! You're awake!"

"Yeah, I'm awake. How are you doing?" Janessa smiled, enjoying the overjoyed expression on his face.

Dex rolled his eyes. "What do you mean, how am I doing? I'm completely fine, it's you I'm worried about."

"And I'm completely fine too. Just a little dizzy is all."

Amy piped in, "She can barely stand up on her own!"

"Amy, be quiet!"

"What? Why not? Do you need anything?"

Amy smirked at her sister, raising an eyebrow at her.

"No, I'm fine, just dizzy, I swear. Amy's making it sound worse than it is."

"Wait, you're the techie guy, right?" Amy asked. Janessa nodded. "Janessa needs a wheelchair by this afternoon, can you make her one?"

"Amy! You can't just ask him to make me a wheelchair! He has other things to do!" Janessa scolded her. "Dex, seriously, don't listen to her."

"It's not a problem though. A wheelchair would be pretty easy to make actually." Dex reassured.

Janessa's cheeks flushed lightly. "But it's extra work for you, you should relax after everything!"
