***Kida's P.O.V***

When I gained some of my consciousness back, I started to wonder what was around me. My head was on a soft, memory foam like pillow that my head sank into. I wasn't used to being comfortable when I'm strapped to a table. Strapped to a table. I thought. I started to move my wrists and I felt metal cuffs clamped around my arms and legs. Then I realized that something was off about both me and my surroundings.

I realized that my arms were exposed up to my shoulders, and I was wearing baggy pants that felt like sweatpants. Someone had changed me out of my battle gear. I went mentally insane. Just the thought of a guy touching me to change me made me upset. On the other hand, something was off about my surroundings. Since I had almost all of my consciousness back, I could manage to focus my hearing. When I did, I heard a heartbeat that wasn't my own. Someone was in the room with me. I narrowed my hearing even more to hear someone breathing. Whoever it was, they were messing with a data pad.

Once I could manage, I opened my eyes. I looked around and I saw that I was in a lab. It was a lot nicer than the ones I've been in. I looked to my right to see a man with a metal arm looking at a data pad. Then the memory of who it was and what had happened to me came back all at once. That must be Bucky. I thought to myself. Once Bucky looked up from the pad, he noticed that I was awake. His gaze met my own and he walked over to me. I started to struggle in my restraints. The more I struggled, the rawer my wrists began to feel. I had to stop because blood started to spill over the cuffs. Once he got to my side, I instantly got tense. He gave me a concerned look.

"Hey it's alright. I told you that I wouldn't hurt you."

I gave him a stern look. "And how do you think I'm supposed to believe that when I'm strapped to a bed?"

Bucky took a breath and muttered something under his breath. Then he hit a button that released me from my restraints. I sat on the edge of the bed and felt my wrists. They hurt badly, but the pain was bearable. He got closer to me and started to wrap my wrists. At first I fought with him, but stopped. His calming manner reminded me strongly of my brother. As he wrapped my wrists, it gave me a flash back; a memory that should have been lost.

I was at a small house in a seemingly busy city. My brother was in the garage working out and I was with him; spotting him. A man came to us and I stopped my brother. He put the weight on the bar and sat up. He took me by the hand and pulled me onto his lap as the man go closer. The stranger stopped and held out an envelope. My brother took it and the stranger only said, "Good luck to you young man," before walking off. We both looked at the slip and the word Accepted was stamped on it in red.

"Hey? You alright," Bucky asked; causing me to snap back to reality. I blinked a few times and shook my head.

"Y-yeah I'm fine," I lied as he continued. I wasn't okay. That flashback showed me finally what my brother looked like. And the Winter Soldier, or Bucky, was a splitting image of him. I pushed that to the back of my mind for now; not wanting to give myself possible false hope. After he was done wrapping my wrists, I tried to stand up. I hadn't fully regained my balance yet and fell on to my hands and knees. Bucky turned to me once I fell and helped me up.

"Am I allowed to leave this room," I asked once I could finally stand on my own. Bucky nodded. He led me out of the room and into a half bar and half living room. I sat down on the couch and he walked into the bar area.

"What would you like to drink," he asked while pulling out two cups from the cabinet.

"Water is fine," I said while looking around at all the stuff. I noticed that the room seemed dim, minus the lights coming from the bar.

"Hey, do you mind if I light a few candles?"

Bucky stopped what he was doing. "No go ahead," he replied, leaning his elbows on the bar top. I looked at the coffee table and there was a set of four candles. I closed my eyes and focused my thoughts. Then I open my eyes and raised an eyebrow. Suddenly, the candles sprouted a flame. I looked at Bucky and he was looking at me in amazement.

"How can you do that," he asked as he walked over and handed me my drink.

"Well...it's kinda a long story that I don't really like to talk about. I'm sorry I don't mean to be rude but...," I said looking away from him in shame.

He sat next to me. "Oh no it's alright. I don't like to think about stuff from my past either. You weren't being rude."

I looked at him with a questioning look. "What happened to you? Your arm I mean," I asked gesturing to his metal arm.

"Train incident."

I gave him an empathetic look. "I'm so sorry. That must have been hard for you."
