Tony clapped three times and the room became totally silent. "Hey everybody! Thank you all for joining us tonight. Now tonight, I will be introducing someone very special to you all." I sort of tuned out the rest of what was said. He was sugar-coating his speech; I didn't like it. But one word I did hear was 'disgrace.' That was when everything shut down. I became completely submissive. My eyes turned into black pits as Tony continued. Then I heard someone speak up.
"Um, Mr. Stark? Is she supposed to be controlling water like that?" It sounded like VISION.
"And are her eyes supposed to look like that Stark? Because she doesn't look so good." That time it sounded like Logan.
"Oh, she's fine. Don't worry about it," Tony replied as he patted my shoulder. Out of reflex, I flipped him over my head and wrenched his arm behind him. Everyone laughed. Once I let him go, he got up and laughed with the crowd. "This is just an example of her powers. Now watch this." Then he threw a bucket of water at me and I caught it. I lifted it above my head and mix it with the first thing of water I had. It started to get heavy but I could manage.
"Tony! Stop this you don't know what you are doing!" This time it was Hunter. Then Alex started to shout.
"Tony how did you... You found her Trigger words in our files didn't you?!" Everyone gasped.
"Tony please tell me you didn't," Sam said.
"Oh don't wor..." Tony got interrupted by Bucky and Steve.
"Stark what have you done to her," Steve asked.
"Tony I swear," Bucky exclaimed.
"Anyway, as another demonstration of her power, I will throw this bucket of a gel-like substance." Then before I could even react, he threw it in the air. Unfortunately, the gel is one thing I can't control. I let go of the water as the gel-like substance came down. The water fell on my head and so did the gel. Everyone laughed except the rest of the Avengers. Once I snapped out of the trance and look at Tony. He was laughing at me as well. My eyes flared and the rage built up even more as I walked towards him. I knew something was wrong with all of this. I was just too naive to see it.
"You are a no-good, lying, son of a bitch," I yelled in his face. Everyone got quiet. The lights started to flicker on and off as I continued to yell at him. "And I've had it with you! You want me gone? Well, you sure as hell got it! And the next time you try anything, I will kill you faster than you can blink. And no one will be able to save you." He smirked and chuckled. The lights continued to flicker, and people were gasping.
"Is that a threat," he asked with a smirk. I grab his shirt and pull him to me. He was so close to where our noses touched.
"No. It's a promise," I replied to him in a harsh manner. Then the lights fused out and a few of them burst. While everyone was screaming because the lights went out, I cut Tony across the face; giving him a cut over his eye. He screamed and grabbed his face. Then I left the room and the lights turned back on again. I ran down a series of hallways and I ended up getting lost. I walked into a white room and shut the door. I hammered my fists against the door and almost started to cry. I used the water I was soaked in to pick up the gel. Then I made it evaporate. After I dried my clothes and sank to the floor and cried. "Why does it have to be me? I don't belong here," I said in between my cries. I let my head fall as I continued. The only person I can really blame is myself. I let this happen. And despite my instinct telling me to not trust that two-faced bastard, I did anyway. I guess that that's what happens when you try to let yourself trust again.
"Awe he got you too hmm?" I heard a man's voice but I couldn't see him. When I looked in front of me a guy was sitting with his legs crossed. He had long black hair that went to his shoulders and he was dressed in all white. I cowered into the door until I couldn't go anywhere else. "No, no. It's alright you don't have to be afraid of me. I'm real this time. I promise," he explained. "My powers are kind of useless in here anyway." Out of fear, my eyes changed colors. He leaned back and gasped. "Woah. How did you..." He didn't finish his own sentence. All he did was smile. He got up and dusted himself off. "I am sorry if I scared you. I mean you absolutely no harm. Please," he said as he extended his hand out to me. I just stared at him at first and hesitated. Then I slipped my hand into his and he pulled me to my feet. At first, I stared at the ground. But he lifted my head with his pointer and thumb. I looked into his eyes. He gave me a warm smile. My eyes changed back to normal and his smile grew even wider. "Extraordinary," he whispered as he let go of my face. I smiled at him.
"Who are you anyway. Besides a man that has a way with words," I asked as I crossed my arms. He chuckled.
"I am Loki."
