It was finally the day of the performing arts film festival. I was getting ready to walk the red carpet. I had my green dress on and I was ready to walk.
When I arrived I saw that the rest of my cast waiting for me. "There she is. The talk of the hour." Monique said to me and I looked at her with on my face.
"Well, I had to be a little late. You know that." I said with a smile and that's when we joined arms.
"She's been to Hollywood now. She's learning their tricks." Frazer said and I looked over at him.
"If that was the case. I'd still be there now." I said and that's when we got signalled to start walking and have our group picture taken before our solo shots.
"I'm guessing we should probably go and talk with press and all that." Monique said and I looked over at her with a smile.
"I think that's how it works." Frazer said and I nodded before we started to split off into different directions. That's when I saw a friendly face doing interviews.
"Alison, it's so good to see you." I said as I went over to her and hugged her.
"Babes, you look stunning. Look at her everyone." Alison said to me. Everyone knew that Alison Hammond was a national treasure over here.
"Thank you. I just threw it all together." I said to her as I looked down at my dress.
"Can you threw me together an outfit next time." She said to me and I looked at her with a smile on my face.
"It would be my honour." I said to her with a smile and that's when she looked at the camera and then at me again.
"Now, let's talk about what's really going on here tonight. You amazing short movie has been nominated for numerous awards. How are you feeling?" She asked me and that's when she handed me the mic.
"It's honestly a complete shock to me. When I started this project I didn't expect for it to have the response that it did. Of course there's only 2 other members of the cast here with me tonight and I wish everyone could be here. Which sadly I know can't happen especially since one of them is now just a mark of ink on my body." I said to her and she looked at me with a sad smile.
"We are so sorry for your loss. But I think I speak for everyone when I say that he'd be proud of you. Do you have anyone special with you tonight?" She asked me and I looked at her with a smile.
"Yes. So my family is here, my siblings and my adoptive parents." I said to her and she looked at me.
"Any special someone's?" She asked me and I looked at her sadly.
"He's working so he couldn't be here but he said as soon as the ceremony is over he'll be calling me to see what happened." I said to her and she looked at me with a smile on my face.
"He sounds like a keeper. We'll let you talk with some other people. But babes, it was so nice to see you and good luck tonight." She said to me and I looked at her with a smile.
"Thank you." I said to her with a smile and that's when I went to mingle with people. That's when I saw that Max Fosh was here and talking to people on the carpet. He'd been given the gig as a host and he was enjoying it. "Oh, look. Troubles here." I said with a smile and he shook his head at me.
"It's always a pleasure to see you as well Y/n. You look very green." He said to me and I looked at him.
"Thank you, I guess." I said to him and he looked at me.
"Tell me in one word how you feel about tonight?" He asked me and I looked at him.
"Nervous." I said to him and that's when I saw Jer behind me.
"That's good to know. I'll see you later." He said to me and I looked at him with a smile.
"Bye." I said to him and that's when I went over to Jer.
"Let's head in." He said to me and that's when we went inside of the building. We all went to our tables and sat down. Watching the ceremony go on.
"Now we'll be presenting our main awards. For the category of Best film with a serious message. Your nominees are. Expectations by Y/n Y/l/n-Ahn, Palo Santo by Jeremey Liu, Kid Krow by Charlie Knight and Blurryface by Thea Kingston." Our teacher said and that's when she opened it up. "Your winner is. Expectations by Y/n Y/l/n-Ahn." She said and that's when I looked around before heading onstage. She handed me the award and that's when I went over to the microphone.
"Wow, I can't believe that I'm actually up here accepting this award. This honestly means so much to not only me but to so many people. This movie was made from my whole heart. I wanted to showcase what it can be like for people that live or have certain restrictions of how they have to be. To the point to where they have to hide who they really are and who they really love. I wanted to inspire people to get out of difficult situations that might be in so that they can start to be the person that they want to be. Thank you to everyone that helped me make this movie a reality and thank you to Hayley herself for allowing me to use her amazing album. Thank you everyone. I love you all." I said before I left the stage and went back to my seat. The ceremony continued on and I won a few more awards. Each one of them making it all more real that we'd done something good for everyone. When I got home I had a dream phone call.
"How did you get on?" Hyunjin asked me and I smiled as Jer and I got into the car to go home.
"I got 3 out of 5 awards." I said to him and I could hear him cheering in the background.
"That's my girlfriend. Amazing and talented." He said making me smile.
"Well, you know it took a lot of time." I said to him with a smile.
"You know I really miss you." He said to me and I looked out the window of the car.
"I miss you as well. But we don't have much time to go." I said to him and I could tell that he was smiling.
"Just a few more months." He said to me and we kept talking before I sent him to go and get some sleep. He needed some with his busy schedule. But soon we'd be together again and that's all that mattered.
