Renjun could almost see the cogs turning in Mr. Yun's brain as he processed the police officer's words. Everything had been going according to his plan so the sudden twist must've surprised him. "What are you talking about?" He was trying his best to compose himself but his eye had started twitching.

"We have a reason to believe that you're connected to an international money-laundering scheme that is currently under investigation", officer Kim explained. He kept his voice down, aware of the public setting and the problems he could run into if Mr. Yun decided to raise the issue of defamation. "There are other, more serious offences we are currently looking into as well but it would be best if we could discuss them privately. So, would you mind following me or do I need to contact backup?" He glanced at the crowd behind them pointedly.

Mr. Yun followed his gaze and swallowed. While many had already lost interest towards the scene, there still were multiple people who were following the situation from the sidelines in case Juye started shouting again or officer Kim provided them with some juicy drama. Mr. Yun must've realized that if he caused a commotion, there would be dozens of phones filming his outburst and write about it to social media.

Renjun wasn't sure where those men who had surrounded him in the MMCA negotiation room had disappeared to before they had even reached the airport - perhaps Mr. Yun had figured that they would attract less attention without his employees. Now, however, his attempts to fly under the radar were definitely backfiring on him.

"What is going on?" Juye whispered loudly. Renjun didn't know what to tell her, instead looking around now that Mr. Yun was preoccupied. He still couldn't see the pack even though the wolf was searching for them fervently.

"I'm a Chinese citizen", Mr. Yun snapped at officer Kim. His eyes were flickering from him to Renjun and Liying who were standing a couple of steps away from them. "I'm in Korea for family reasons. I don't know what you're talking about." While he was talking, Renjun eyed Liying who looked bewildered.

Officer Kim sighed. "Mr. Yun, I'm talking about the car crash 12 years ago that killed Nam Jihoon, Chen Guilin and Huang Wenyin. Do those names ring any bells? We have a reason to believe that you're connected to the case. Refusing to cooperate with the police is only going to make this more difficult for you."

Renjun felt like someone had punched him in the gut. There was supposed to be no evidence connecting Mr. Yun to the crash yet the officer had brought it up with such confidence. Had something resurfaced?

"No! I don't know!" Mr. Yun sounded even more stressed than before. His eyes darted to his daughter and back to Renjun. "I'm here with my daughter and her fiancée. Lili, you have no clue what this police officer is saying, right?" His glare hardened as he looked over to Yun Liying.

The message was loud and clear. Liying was supposed to help him out, vouch for his innocence and then start pulling strings to get him out scot-free.

Yun Liying's face, however, was empty as if she hadn't heard the question.

"Lili?" Mr. Yun called her name through his teeth.

Yun Liying took one step closer before addressing the police officer, still acting like her father hadn't said anything to her. "Do you have evidence against him?" she asked, somehow sounding like a kid who was asking the babysitter if she was allowed to stay up past her bedtime. "Do you have actual, hard evidence against him?"

Mr. Yun cleared his throat, shaking his head at his daughter.

Officer Kim frowned, probably confused by the odd pair in front of him. "Sadly, I can't share any details as of now but we do have a legitimate reason to believe that Mr. Yun is connected to the cases I mentioned."
