Yoongi witnessed Hoseok draw his final breath, and right at that moment he knew a part of him died the same way Hoseok did.
Yoongi is an emotional person, every little things never fail to make him cry, that's why with just the mere thought of Hoseok and he's already against the wall, balling his eyes out. All this crying often leads to his chest tightening and his struggle to breathe properly.
When Jungkook heard the knews, the man cried rivers too. He loves his Hoseok-hyung just as much as Yoongi and Jungkook took a break from his university to accompany his brother during the funeral.
Since Hoseok requested a three-day funeral and only wanted the people he's dear with to attend, there was just a three-day funeral. Only the six men he only recently made friends with are permitted to attend his wake.
Yes, that includes Seokjin, Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook.
But ever since then, there was never a day you can see a smile on Yoongi's face. Until the day Jungkook had to leave because he had to come back to his university, he still never once seen his hyung's lip curl into his usual beautiful smile.
Yoongi's sorrow explains his love for Hoseok, his sadness shows how much he misses his dead lover. Yoongi doesn't want to continue his studies anymore, his passion died, he failed to take care of Hoseok. He's not worthy anymore.
Besides, how can he function properly when his heart is already broken and his brain already drowning into a millions of what ifs? Is living even possible for him?
"Are you okay, hyung? Are you sure you're okay? I'm getting worried.." Jungkook spoke from the other line.
To make sure his older brother was okay, Jungkook developed a routine of calling him every day. Yet despite these regular conversations, Jungkook still couldn't help but worry because every time he contacts his brother, the latter is either crying or too drained out to say anything.
"I'm fine, Jungkook-ah. Your hyung's fine.."
Yoongi's nowhere near fine.
The rain was pouring hard and Jungkook, wh could hear it from the other line, can immediately tell that Yoongi's outside.
Jungkook wanted so badly to rush to his brother and accompany him through the grief but he can only wish it's that easy. His dormitory is strict, therefor due to the curfew, he can't easily slip out the campus.
As continuous drops of rain falls on Yoongi's lithe body, he stared down at Hoseok's grave. This caused him to sob uncontrollably once more, and the rain was beginning to feel ashamed of itself due to how strong Yoongi's tears are compared to it.
Yoongi didn't that his phone had slipped from his grasp and was now submerged in the soggy grass. The male was entirely fixated on his lover's grave.
"Hoseok, I miss you.." Yoongi fell on his knees, the sharp pain from the rocks hidden between the short grass bed of the grave yard penetrated through his skin, but it can never hurt him the same way Hoseok's death did.
"I wanna see you again."
"I wanna be happy with you again." Yoongi sobs as he leaned his head against the tombstone.

Real love is never painful unless it is the pain of parting.
Maybe that's why this was the first time Hoseok hurted him. In the past, no matter how many time Hoseok took him for granted, ignored and pushed him, he loved him too much he choose to always stay.
Maybe that's why he was hurt, because Hoseok finally decided to leave him.
Yoongi's heart breaks every single day.
And every single day, Yoongi can feel his heart beat weaken. Literally, this time.
Just like Hoseok, Yoongi had lost the appetite to eat and instead spent his time by the veranda, where he and Hoseok sat in their last moments.
There he also watched the trees sway so lively reminding him that he can never be as alive as those plants.
Until after a few days, it's finally here.
Yoongi can feel it now, the arms of the beloved death he's been awaiting to grab on to him and pull him with them
and Yoongi doesn't want to fight these off, this is what he's been wanting.
He wants to be with Hoseok.
Day by day, the grip of the death has on his body gets tighter and tighter, probably trying to pull him in but its death grip still manages to let Yoongi split away.
Not until today, though. The death's hand took Yoongi in its arms, tight and suffocating. It was assured it can never let go of Yoongi again.
Finally.
Yoongi laid on the ground a smile finally making home to his features as he can feel his heart slowly deteriorating at the same moment death's welcoming him.
Yoongi was indeed smiling. Finally he's smiling, because he's finally going to be with him again.
Jung Hoseok.
Yoongi's one and only assurance in this world full of doubts.
His hope.
and it feels good to know that they spent their eternity with eachother, knowing they are eachother's hope to keep on living.

im just gonna mention it here just bc i dont think it's necessary to include it in the ending : right after hoseok's death yoongi suffered a rare syndrome called heartbreak syndrome, the syndrome doesn't usually cause death but in yoongi's case he wanted it, which is why he chose to not seek help and let his heart do its thing. (death jsgjs)
