"Nothing turns to hate so bitter as what once was love." ~ Laurell K. Hamilton

Morning 4:12 AM

Bondita's Alpine Hut

Anirudh and his newly wed wife were sleeping in the nude breathing soundly.

It was Brahmmuhrata when someone knocked their door in urgency, and it woke Anirudh up.

Covering Binitha inside Duvet securely, he wore his night dress and spectacles to see who was there?

He opened the door in a twinkle to see small Bondita standing there with a Book in her hand.

"Bondita...You, at this time, here? are you fine?", Anirudh asked in concern.

Bondita forwarded the book in her hand towards him, "Patibabu! This is your Ayurveda's kitab, can you search me a remedy here? I bled last night." She spoke in her childish voice but her face devoid of any pain and horror.

Listening her sentence, he shook his face vigorously, roaming his gaze on her to see from where she was bleeding? No blood drops he found on her body or on the floor. "Bondita are you trying to fool me early morning?" He yawned lazily as he knew she was good in mischiefs.

"No Patibabu, Shotti!" Bondita uttered in lil petrified voice touching her neck.

He knelt in front of her, taking the book in her hand. "Its good if you were reading early morning. Here in table of content you can find what remedy is described on which page. See!" He showed her.

"But, because I never went to school I can't read.", Her gaze accusing. "You read me the remedy fast Patibabu! It is paining here. I am not lying, you only made me bleed last night, dried blood stains are still here."

She informed him placing her tiny right palm in between her thighs on her saree decently. Her innocent round eyes which were not lying, saw him unbalancing on the floor and before he could gather himself and enquire further......

She had vanished, leaving petrified Anirudh in that small chamber alone with her own grown but prostitute self.

This small conversation rattled him awake from the deep sleep. His heart pounding in fear. He was shaking and sweating profusely. It was a nightmare but a traumatic one. He needed water but the vessel was empty. Taking few minutes of time wetting his dry throat with his own saliva, he mustered himself to not panic, he closed his eyes placing his palms on his face for few minutes.

"Dugga Ma! Take care of my Bondita. I will ask Toshi to check on her wellbeing once again.", Caressing his heart he lay down beside his wife, and tried to sleep again, but he couldn't, as suddenly his forbidden dreadful doubt about Binitha being Bondita crossed his mind. This deadly possibility in early silent dawn made his blood run cold. He couldn't stop himself from uncovering duvet which has been covering Bondita's lying figure, to check the blood stains in between her thighs.

He had already cleaned it in the night so none should be there..yes! none will be there! He tried to pacify himself.

Facing greatest level of anxiety his quivering hand moved to unsheathe her bare body to his naked eyes. In minus degrees temperature of Kashmir, he was sweating profusely.

"Nooo!" he screamed, pulling his sweaty scalps in his fists roughly.

He gulped the fresh bitter boils formed in his throat recalling Bondita's words because Binitha's inner thighs still had few dried blood marks. He couldn't believe it. He swiftly covered her inside duvet to come out of that spooky instance. He din't get any time to recover as Bondita turned in her sleep clawing his naked chest in her tiny paws.
