« The sound of the shakers and of the ice cubes still ringing in the empty glasses echoed around the bar section of the cafe. The bright neon signs light up and the regular clients start coming in. Sure, keeping up a bar and a cafe for 24 hours is tiring, but not for Xerenade. Her past job as a maid and the Steel Bind Curse have made her excellent when it comes to performing exhausting tasks.
Some say that she loves her job and that's the reason why she's so obsessed with doing it. But in fact, it's only half the truth. When they met each other, her, Aeryx, Aoi, Akai and Pyrex, they were quite poor.
All the nights Akai spent starving by the fountain, waiting for the sunrise to make her money, was all sent to her mother and she was left with only a few loose change.
Pyrex's outrageous amounts of money given to him as the Prince of the Kitsuneyō wasn't even from the currency used in Solisel.
Aeryx was 7 in human age, which made him unable to work. All who were left were Aoi and Xerenade. Xerenade worked as a maid, but the money received was barely enough to buy food. Aoi, on the other hand, was pretty rich, but his means of earning money were fairly unethical. So Xerenade started a cafe. They often ended up having to close it, which made Xerenade furious about losing money. But with time, Xerenade's old client and Akai's fans offered to work for them on those days. They ended up making a stable income.
Pyrex, a young Fox-like mythical creature, met the four after escaping from his world, Kitsuneyō kingdom. It was the only way for him to escape his fate. His Father, King Chi, and his mother, Queen Fleur, A strange lady from another dimension entirely, ruled over Kitsuneyō. They had 5 children, Oliver, Cecilia, Prichra, Aura and Pyrex. They were easily recognizable with their non typical names, so Pyrex usually lived as an outcast to avoid recognition. Being a King or Queen in Kitsuneyō was far from the fairytale the 5 had once envisioned.
Each of the siblings had their own way of avoiding obtaining the position, since none of them wanted it. Oliver dressed up as a young lady from a poor family named Yuki Hana and walked around seducing older men in order to dishonor their family, Aura was so dumb she was out of the question since her birth, Prichra acted like a spoiled brat and was rude to everyone and Cecilia enjoyed factually disproving Traditions in public event, resulting in absolute scandals.
Pyrex was the only one fit for the job. Everytime he tried to make a fool of himself or try to prove he wouldn't be a great king, the only replies he'd hear were "What a Noble child, He will be a great king." or "Such manners and Dignity.". Oliver once tried to make Pyrex follow him while dressed as a girl to a sketchy corner of the city, and Cecilia tried to uncover and expose the darkest secrets of the monarchy with his help, and a bunch of other things, but at last, he wasn't able to do so, running away from his sibling's help.
He didn't know why he turned them down. He always told Cecilia and Oliver how much he was ready to do everything to avoid the position, but something about causing a major revolution resulting in a war or whatever Oliver wanted to do was too much. So thus, he fled to another world and met Akai, Aoi, Xerenade and Aeryx. He promised never to go back to Kitsuneyō. »
