They finally reached the high grass. No one was in sight, thankfully. Although, they were still too far to tell. Pyrex and Aoi walked in the back as Cecilia, Lorela and Xerenade talked about their plans to take care of Kitsuneyō.
Aeryx tagged next to Xerenade, but he didn't talk. The red-eyed Heir didn't really care. There weren't many plans that would actually work, afterall, so he didn't bother listening to their "grandiose" ideas. He was pretty much sick of it.
-Hey, Pyrex? Asked Aoi
-Mmh?
-Your dad is possessed by a big ol' demon, right?
-Yes.
-And that demon can't die because he's already dead, am-I not mistaken?
-Not at all.
-So that means that if you or your siblings got possessed, there would be no way to save them?
-There wouldn't.
Aoi sighed.
-Maybe we should've stayed with Oriole, I don't want to risk you getting the crown. We were safe, back in the forest.
-No way! I hate Solitude Bells with all my soul. I also need to make sure Cecilia and the others won't get it either.
The bloodthorn smiled down at Pyrex.
-Okay.
They got closer and closer to the wall. After 30 minutes of walking, they could see it clearly.
-Not even an hour to go, everyone! Said Cecilia.
-Cecilia? Asked Lorela loud enough for everyone to hear.
-Yes? She answered.
-If your dad does die, who is most likely to be the successor?
Cecilia lowered her head.
-It would be Pyrex, then Oliver, Prichra, Aura and then me. The Parasite King hates my guts, really. He would never think of possessing me. Meanwhile, he likes Pyrex a lot. And so does mom.
Pyrex lowered his head.
-I think we should talk to your mom about it. I really think we do. Said Xerenade.
-You're kidding? What is that supposed to do? At that it's gonna be even worse because if she refuses to pick a king or queen the assistant will decide for himself and Fleur will just feel remorse for the rest of her life. Said Cecilia.
-Ah, I get it. Simply replied Aoi.
Aeryx looked at a butterfly on the grass. A huge shadow casted upon it as the butterfly flew away.
-Whoaa, A meteorite! Said Cecilia. WAIT, A METEORITE?
-WHAT THE HELL? Screamed Xerenade. SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!
-Why don't you try, Xerenade? Whispered Aoi.
-I CAN'T!
Lorela pushed the others away. She jumped and flew up to the meteorite, her green wings lighting up every brighter. A light shone from the sky as her katana was now at least five times her size. The Seraph sliced the huge boulder as smaller rocks were scattered everywhere in an explosion.
She landed back as Aoi shielded the group from the falling rocks with a bunch of intertwined rose brambles sprouting from the ground. He stood right in front of Pyrex, pulling him to the left as a rock crossed through the brambles in his direction.
-Whoa, It's almost as if it wasn't the first time you did that, Lorela. Exclaimed Xerenade as she caught her breath.
The mint green light died down as Aoi disintegrated the brambles.
