Akai and Aoi sat on the living room couch, joining Pyrex. Aeryx was sleeping in his room and Xerenade was still working. Aoi grabbed a bag of chips and turned on the old TV Xerenade was offered a few months ago.
-Pyrex? Asked Akai. Why is there some weird mail with your name on it at the door?
He looked at the young bloodthorn, confused.
-That's not possible. I don't even have my name registered anywhere... no one knows I exist.
Akai gave him one of the three letters. In bold red letters was written "Pyrex Kitsuneyō". The name of the sender was smothered off.
-That's weird... replied the young heir.
Akai sat closer to Pyrex. After closer inspection, she touched the letters and wiped it on her lips with her finger.
-That's the lipstick Cecilia sells. She sold me a stick of it when we first visited Kitsuneyō.
-Lipstick or not, why would you wipe random wax that traveled miles in a rusty truck on your lips? Asked Aoi.
Akai giggled a bit, while Pyrex groaned. He got up and threw the letter in a trash can.
-It's either Akai pranking me or a person in Kitsuneyō trying to reach me. Either way I don't care, I don't want to have nothing to do with them.
Aoi looked at the letters.-Does that mean someone in your fox land kingdom knows where we live?
Pyrex turned to the young Bloodthorn.
-If we ignore 'em long enough they'll just give up. They can find another king or queen anyways. They don't need me.
-You're assuming it's someone asking you to be king? Isn't it clear enough that you don't want to? Why would they bother? Asked Akai
He shrugged.
-Why would they need me if it wasn't for that?
-I don't know, it could be many things.
-They don't need my help if it isn't to look for a King of the Ah ol' mighty Kitsuneyō Kingdom.
The young heir sat down right next to Aoi, shoulder to shoulder, yawning.
-You look tired, Pyrex. Said Akai.
-Kitsuneyōs tire me, that's all, He replied. I don't know how long they'll annoy me with their king stuff, I thought I was done.
Aoi smiled at him and wrapped his arm around Pyrex's neck as he fell asleep, a few moments later.
-He is so cute when he sleeps. Whispered Akai.
Aoi slid his finger through the Kitsune's hair.
-Yeah.
After he said that, The young girl got up and left her brother and the fox prince alone.
-Good night you two.
-Good night.
An hour passed. As Aoi was about to fall asleep too, the door banged open.
-SORRY IF I'M LATE! Yelled Xerenade, locking the door back closed. I had quite a few customers today, seems that my regulars brought their friends and-
She looked at Pyrex yawning, while Aoi held him.
-Did I... Disturb you guys? Asked Xerenade.
-Yeah, you woke us up. Groaned Pyrex.
Xerenade was still looking at them.
-Did something happen?
-We suspect that the Kitsuneyō tried to send letters to Pyrex to make him the king and for some reason that made him really sleepy and he fell asleep on me and then-
Xerenade looked at them in sarcastic disgust
-What? What did we do? asked Pyrex to the newcomer.
She shrugged.
-Nothing, it's just that it's weird that Aoi let you fall asleep on him like that.
Pyrex sat a bit further away from Aoi, blushing a little.
-Sorry.
Xerenade shook her arm.
-Eh, y'all made sure that Aeryx was sleeping right?
-Not really. I think Akai passed by his room earlier but I don't know anything else. Answered Aoi
Xerenade sighed again.
-We can't trust you guys can we.
She entered the kitchen with the two friends.
-It's 5 AM already... I feel like we're only 8 PM... she whispered to herself.
Aoi sat in the dining room with Pyrex right next to him as Aeryx woke up.
-Hi you three. Yawned the young dragon.
He stood tip toe next to Xerenade as she mixed ingredients with a blender.
-Oh Hi Aeryx! You slept well? She asked, petting the little humanoid dragon with her free hand.
-Yes.
Xerenade treated Aeryx like her child, and didn't care that much about Aoi, Akai and Pyrex. But the three didn't care. They could take care of themselves.
After tasting a bit of what Xerenade was cooking with a small wooden spoon, the dragon sat back down in front of Pyrex.Xerenade turned to the boys at the table and started talking about her job at the cafe.
-You guys should help me work there. I mean, when you will be 18 I'll force you to. We have a lot of clients, I can handle it myself but it's boring, really. Some of the clients want me to braid their beards and give them massages while pouring alcohol on them... I'm a barista and bartender, not a massager hair-stylist or whatever. You should at least come visit? I won't ask you to give them a massage, I doubt you would be into that, not to mention they want me to do it. Please! Please come visit, will you? My regulars who come during the day are far more... respectable... and sober.
Aoi sighed and looked back up at Xerenade.
-I guess. Unless we get something to do today I suppose I can come.
Pyrex shook his head in agreement. "If he comes, I'm also coming", he thought.
Aeryx stretched his wings.
-Yeah!
Xerenade smile at them again.
-Cool! So when Akai wakes up we can go.
