It was now late at night. Aura was playing go with Prichra on the floor while Oliver was sleeping. The room was lit with a fire and a few golden lanterns, the large windows giving out to the portal and lanterns. Pyrex was laying down on the couch, snuggling his folded hoodie.
"The atmosphere is just like when I was a kid." He thought, as he watched his sisters laugh and mock each other. "...Except that Cecilia isn't here."
Even then, he didn't quite know if Cecilia's absence was a bad thing.Aura punched the ground.
-OH YEAH, I WIN AGAIN!
Prichra silently laughed.
-Congrats. You wanna play another round?
-Yes!
Pyrex looked over to Oliver. He was still asleep. As Prichra and Aura started playing again and the moon shone brightly inside of the living room, Pyrex curled up in a corner of the couch and yawned. Prichra looked over.
-Are we making too much noise?
-No... It's fine.
The oldest sister politely nodded and continued playing with Aura.
-When did you get so good at this? Asked Prichra.
-Oh, Cecilia teached me. She replied. The dark haired Kitsune looked back at the game.
-Do you think Cecilia will get out of the dungeon soon?
Aura squinted.
-Hmm... She said "They don't let out the prisoners..." Uh... "...Because it's dangerous for the disease..." Yeah, that's what she said.
Pyrex stared at his sister.
"So if I don't do anything, There's no hope of saving Xerenade, Aoi and the others."
He looked out the window, feeling bad for them.
Prichra finally raised her head after an awkward pause.-So... What about Pyrex's friends?
The Kitsune turned to his sisters.
-I'll save them myself.
Aura looked unimpressed.
-You? You've been following people and doing nothing for like, 5 days...
-...And now you're gonna save them yourself? Finished Prichra.
He nodded.
Oliver opened his eyes and yawned.
-Don't bother doing dangerous things like that... Last time I saw you, you didn't even seem to enjoy their company that much. Do you really wanna save them? You can just stay with us, you know?
"I DO enjoy their company, does it not show enough?"
-Of course, I'll save them... Wait, were you listening the whole time?
-Yes.
Prichra sighed.
-Oli... Always the same...
After another awkward pause, Pyrex fell asleep.
The next morning, Aura was asleep, face planted on the floor, Prichra was sitting on the small rocking chair, dozing off, and Oliver was looking out of the window.-There's a few people outside. Maybe Dad made an announcement, wanna go check, Pyrex? Said Oliver, turning back to his brother.
-No... He whispered. I want to go save my friends today.
-Yeah, well, I'm not saying you can't, but if you die from that...
-I'm dying before all of you anyways.
