Pyrex could see Cecilia boiling with rage.
-Oh YEAH? OH SO NOW YOU'RE ALL MIGHTY AND ALWAYS RIGHT?
King Chi looked at his daughter, not adding anything.
-That's what I thought! Said Xerenade mockingly as she laughed with Akai and Aeryx.
But they all immediately stopped laughing as King Chi threw a dagger at Xerenade's head. She barely dodged it as she looked at him, scared. He turned his head at his kids.
-Uh, right. Wait till I tell that to everyone. You don't actually care about their safety. Menaced Cecilia.
-Yeah right. You have many people to tell it to. Anyone who spreads misinformation is suitable for jail.
-I'm classified as dead on the official Kitsuneyō population report. I can't get arrested. Said Pyrex.
-Oh, Pyrex... I was so sad about your death, you were basically the king before the fake news got announced. But at last... you teamed up with my demon of a daughter. I can't respect you anymore. Unless...
-Is it supposed to affect me? He asked.
Cecilia stepped towards her dad.
-What are all of your plans? If you don't tell me, Pyrex will burn your eyes and your neck.
-I'm simply drugging people. Yes, it can kill them, but that's a minor loss, really. You guys can't understand. I only install measures where necessary, that's what you have to do as a king. I'm not fixing the drug issue, I'm not fixing anything.
He pointed a piece of paper he had just written on.
-If you guys tell Ai I'm firing her. I'm not hiring another nurse either except one who will exclusively take care of Fleur. If you guys tell the guards, I'm arresting them. If you say something to anyone, you, your three friends here and whoever your other associates are will be arrested and falsely accused of any crime I judge deserved. If that's too much, then shut up and obey.
-Isn't that kinda counterproductive? Don't you want more employees? Why fire them? Asked Cecilia, forcing herself to calm down.
-Because. I chose to. I decided to care about Kitsuneyō as a whole rather than individual people. Accept it or deny, I don't care. I'm the king, you guys are just merely... spares. Now leave. I've been clear. I don't care about your opinion, and if you tell anyone, it's game over.
Cecilia and Pyrex left silently as Xerenade, Akai and Aeryx ran out quickly.
-I know where we're going. Said Cecilia. Stay silent for now.
They all nodded.
They left the Palace in silence, only nodding at guards and politely shaking their heads to say no.
"I don't remember dad being that bad... He used to just be standing for his opinion. Cecilia must've really pissed him off hard for him to get that angry." Thought Pyrex.
The orange eyed heir opened the door as she let the others and her brother pass.
-Can we check up on Aoi before we go? Asked Pyrex.
Cecilia looked at the stairs.
-Oh! I had forgotten about him. Wait here, it's safer for me to go there alone. Stay outside.
-Okay. Replied her brother as they closed the door.
Once outside, Xerenade, Akai and Aeryx looked at Pyrex.-What?
Akai scratched her head.
-Your dad... How did you endure him for so long?
-He usually isn't like that. He simply replied.
