Chikara sat on his bed, trying to avoid Fleur's gaze, as she tried to get his attention. Pyrex's words resonated in his head the whole day. He couldn't help but wonder if the short Kitsune was right, or if he tried to avoid his destiny the best way he could.
"I'm not a bad person after all. Coralis did the contract for me, even if I drugged her to give me a contract with no bad side it's her fault. It was her job."
-Chi, honey... Whispered Fleur.
-What?
-Why did you let Pyrex leave?
Chikara sighed.
-I have my reasons.
Fleur sighed and bit her lip.
-Oh... dear... Who are you crowning now? I think Pric sweetie had a mental breakdown because she wasn't crowned, so she might be a good choice.
"Ew, no. I don't wanna be Prichra."-No. I have taken everything into consideration, I'm taking the crown back.
"Please, miss, don't ask any question."
Fleur laid on Chikara's body.
"You had all the time to do that with the real Chikara..."
Hisao looked at the window, ignoring Fleur's lip biting and sighing.
"I really hate being Chikara... Pyrex, why did you leave me like this!? I can't deal with it anymore!"
"Give Fleur attention right now."
Despite Hisao's best effort to stay still, Chikara's hand held Fleur's neck, who purred in happiness.
"I hate Chikara because I don't have complete control over him, that's it. It feels like I'm the one getting possessed."Hisao had realized that a good while ago. Whenever he totally refused to follow his host's wishes for way too long, they started acting up on their own to reach a tiny bit of happiness from their life, even despite being possessed. As for where their souls even ended up, he had no idea.
Reluctantly, Hisao kissed Fleur before getting up.
-I'm sorry, Fleur. I need to think about something.
He left the room as fast as possible, walking out of the palace altogether."Do I regret the contract?" He thought.
After walking in circles a few times, he reminded himself of what Pyrex told him.
"That's right, he's giving himself up to me... I can't wait!"
The pain of experiencing his hosts' deaths, the regret of the contract, all that always gets overridden by his excitement to be someone else, brand new, with a new mindset and body, and living for at least 50 more years each time.
"That's right, mom. Even if I forgot everything about you and who I used to be, I'm sure you're happy that your son is still alive to watch over Kitsuneyō, no matter if you think it's a horrible thing or not."
