A/N: It is an unpublished chapter and was on draft since May 31st, 2021. The chapter is in the third person limed perspective. This was when I was still finding my writing style. There are a few grammar mistakes.

On a chilly evening, it was Christmas Eve for the Liu family. Especially for an eight-year-old girl named Mary Liu. Christmas Eve was the best part of her family's tradition to celebrate giving and love to each other in such a manner for respectfulness. In such a way that the holiday was the joy of Mary's heart. When she's alone, she keeps peeking in the window in the foyer room near the door. Squinting her eyes to look for a figure but couldn't tell since the snow made it hard to see.
"Mary, get away from the window!"
Hearing her mother's worried voice drove her mind away from reality. Then felt the touch of her grip.
"Mary! Your father is running late now. Come away from the window!"
Then she decided to give up and depart.
Mary: "Mommy! When is daddy coming home?!"
Her Mother: "I know not, I told him to not be out this late! It's eve!"
She states as her voice raises in worrisome.
Her Mother: "I wish this snow could've come sooner or later. Why? Why now!?"
She says in whimpering pain.
Mary sometimes understood her mother's complaints and when it comes to her fussing, she's prone to soliloquizing "talk to self"
One hour later...
Mary is playing with her dolls in the usual Barbie dollhouse.
Then, Larry (her brother) sneaks down on the floor, crawls to where Mary is and does a surprise attack that causes her to flinch.
Larry: "Ooh! I'm a dinosaur! ROAR!"
Mary laughed as Larry pinned her down to tickle her.
At the same time, she'll still be shaking her head in anger.
She yells "Stop it! Do I need to call dad to kill this dinosaur?"
Larry: "Nah! I'm a dinosaur! Big! BIG!"
While Larry was too distracted to notice, Mary shouted "MOMMY!!"
His attention is suddenly drawn and stopped tickling.
He lifted Mary off the floor as mother stepped in. Then Mary ran to her and hugged her waist tightly.
Her mother: "What is the matter dear? I am still cooking?"
Mary: "Where is daddy? Is he coming back?"
Her mother: "I hope so dear, I hope so. I'm concerned...possibly angry at him."
Mary: "Why are you angry?"
Her mother: "Honey, it's adult talk that is between me and your dad. Larry, go watch Mary while your sister and I take care of things?"
Larry: "Right!"
While that was happening, her mother will always think back on her past, and her love for her husband. Their intimacy was one of the happiest marriages in this world. There is no end to their love. They have never faced any sort of problems that are ever so common in any marriage.
Now in their middle ages, she's stressed about what decision he makes that suits her happiness for the family's living.
