If you asked Ink what color is his favorite, he'd tell you that he likes them all a lot. But that's a lie. His favorite color is yellow, and although he'll never admit it, because he desires to be seen as impartial, he has a lot of good reasons to prefer it over others. First of all, it was the first color he ever absorbed, the source of the most important moment of his life. Furthermore, yellow represents happiness, which is why he is so optimistic in general. He always adds a majority of yellow in his paint mix, to keep a smile whenever he can, and cheer up others as well. And after all, since the drop also gave color to the Multiverse, it was originally yellow, making it the first color Ink ever saw at all. Can you imagine how important their first color must be, to someone themed around painting and colors ? 

Yellow is energy too, possibly explaining the constant hyperactivity of Ink, ever since his "birth". His outfit is mostly brown. But look closely, and you'll see yellow on his broom, on his chest, in his eyes, very often, and even more present on his other clothes. Yellow is the light, the stars, Determination, by association. Its sight gives hope to people. It comforts them. They see yellow as a promise, and it's something a lot of people in the Multiverse need in general. Maybe that's why Ink prefers this color over others after all. It reminds him, whenever he sees it, of why he exists, why he protects AUs, why he should, and why he always will.
