TW: This is part three of the Halloween special. Mentions of horror movies and other topics talked about during Halloween that may be triggering to some people will be talked about in this chapter.
Halloween night. What a night! A night where friends and family try to kill each other with horror movies, costumes, and stories. That's how Halloween is supposed to be anyway. But this Halloween is anything but that.
I'm home alone wearing a stupid Halloween sweater I found at a thrift store, flipping through different horror movies.
After an hour I got a routine going. Sit on the couch, shove my face full of junk food, go to the door when I hear a noise at the door, give kids candy, and repeat. It wasn't the greatest routine but it also wasn't the worst I've had.
I walked back up the stairs to the living room and sat down on the couch. As soon as I did, I heard the doorbell ring. "Fuck" I groaned getting up and trudging downstairs.
I opened the door to see Mark there. "Oh! Hey there" I greeted him. "Hi" he replied with a smile only an angel could have.
"What are you dressed up as?" I asked him with a voice people only use when they're talking to pets or little kids. He chuckled, "I'm dressed up as a drummer" he told me. "You are so fucking boring. Get in here" I told him, grabbing his hand and dragging him in.
"No Halloween decorations inside?" He questioned, looking around at the walls. "Charles' rules! Nt mine!" I yell at him as I started putting a popcorn bag in the microwave.
"Someone doesn't respect the Halloween grind" he said, leaning on the fridge. "That's what I'm saying!" I shouted.
He noticed me zooming around the place doing weird things like putting throw pillows on different couches and putting candy in bowls. "What are you doing?" he asked me. "I need to do something with my hands" I replied.
"Maybe you can use your hands to put on an actual good horror movie on?" he suggested, pointing to the tv playing the Netflix original, 'Before I Wake.'
"Alright fine. But you have to help" I told him. We sat on the couch and flipped through Netflix. "Insidious?" I suggested. He shook his head. "No." I hovered over 'Morbius.' "Don't you dare" he said with a glare.
I laughed, "Okay, I'm saying we just pick one of the classics. Do you know where we can watch Carrie?" I asked him.
"I'll look it up" he said, getting out his phone. I glanced at his phone to see it opened up on my Instagram. I turned red and immediately adverted my gaze. "Okay Apple TV, Roku, Vudu, Prime Video-" "Roku" I cut him off.
We settled into the couch with piles of blankets and junk food around us. I got a notification on my phone so I opened it. "No! No phones while watching the movie!" he exclaimed, grabbing the phone from my hands and tossing it to the corner couch.
"But it was from Charles! It might be important" I told him. He sighed and got up to retrieve my phone. He gave it back to me and the doorbell rang so he went downstairs to give candy to devils, witched, and ghouls.
I checked the message and took a deep breath. Mark came back up. "What's wrong?" He asked me. "It's just this" I replied, holding out my phone for him.
"Won't be home until morning. Sorry" he read out. "He treats me like I'm his kid or something and he's a neglectful parent!" I complained. Mark laughed, "I mean, you baby me, Will, Joe, and Ash all the time" Mark said.
"Yeah! But he just does it to make me feels small. I do it to you guys because I care about you guys" I explained. Mark nodded and started typing.
I stared at him, scared. "What are you doing?" I asked him. Mark grinned at me then continued to type. "Mark what are you doing?" I repeated. "Nothing" he replied. He showed me what he was typing. "Ph my god. Don't send that" I demanded.
He hit the send button, "Someone needs to tell him" he said. "No! Delete it!" I shouted. He jumped up from the couch. "Never!" he shouted, running to the kitchen.
I started to chase him. "Mark! Please! You bitch!" I shouted at him. We were on opposite sides of the kitchen island.
I mirrored his movements. "You want it?" he asked me, holding up my phone, teasing me at this point. "Fuck it!" I shouted. Mark looked at me confused, his confused expression turned into fear and surprise when I hopped onto the counter and reached for his shirt collar.
Mark was too fast. He ran to the living room. "Oh my god! I almost died!" he shouted, touching his own face to make sure I didn't sneakily steal it from him somehow.
"I'll get you!" I shouted like an evil Disney villain. He laughed and ran downstairs. I ran after him. "Get back here!" I shouted at him.
The doorbell rang, luckily, I was right in front of the door so I opened it. It was my neighbor. "Oh, hey!" I greeted her. "Hi, um, is everything okay over here?" she asked me. "Uh, yeah. Everything is great! Just Halloween stuff, you know how it is" I told her.
"Oh, I see. Do you mind keeping it down a little?" she asked me. "Of course! I'm so sorry!" I apologized to her. "It's okay! You didn't know" she replied giving me a sweet smile.
"Okay, I'll makes sure to tell Charles" I said. "Okay good. Happy Halloween!" she said, "Happy Halloween" I replied, closing the door.
I looked around the hall frantically. "Mark where the hell are you!?" I whisper shouted. I started roaming around the house trying to find him. I groaned after looking around Charles' room and not finding him.
I walked into the office to see him there. It caught me a little off guard actually finding him so quickly.
"Oh, here you are" I said. All the energy I had vanished from my voice. He was sitting at the computer staring at the screen. "You alright?" I asked him.
"Look" he said, pointing to the screen. I looked at where he was pointing. I stared at it with him. "Um, happy Halloween?" I questioned, unsure of what to say.
