The waves crashed across the rocks as he walked along the beach clearly avoiding making his skin contact with the water. He shivered as the wind blew past now regretting his spur of the moment decision.
His raven hair blew past as he stared out into the ocean, he went to move his feet closer to it only to feel shivers go down his spine once again as he narrowly avoided the next incoming splash from the waves further in the distance.
Cole stood back as another splash of water came close, he sighed walking away. It had already been a month since he became human again. He didn't need to be scared of water anymore.
Why was this such a problem? The only reason he was even in this situation right now was because he freaked out when Nya sent a blast of water his way nearly hitting him and he ran away screaming that she was gonna kill him and did they forget he was a ghost?
The thing is, he wasn't, he's the one that forgot he was a human.
Cole's hand briefly gazed over the scar he now had, it was just a reminder of what had happened, there was no purpose to it. He hoped. The black ninja began to walk again before hearing a roar in the distance.
He turned his head to see the lightning dragon landing and jumping off of it was his best friend, Jay. The ninja walked up to the energetic guy. "Jay? What are you doing here?"
His friend looked around for a bit before looking back at Cole. "I could ask you the same thing." Cole sighed and the two began walking along the beach full of sand. "How did you even find me?"
Jay snorted a laugh at his friend's question. "Cole, buddy, you think we haven't noticed you sneaking out almost every time water is involved in a situation? After a while I followed you just to make sure you weren't doing anything dangerous."
Cole punched Jay on the shoulder lightly getting a yell out of the lightning Ninja. "First off, ow. Second, what did you expect us to do? Cole, " Jay stopped them putting his hands on Cole's shoulders. "We're worried about you."
The earth ninja then placed his hands on his hips smiling. "Jay there's nothing to worry about, I'm fine!"
"No you're not! We've seen you sneak out clearly you're still having trouble adjusting to being a human again that's clear because of how scared you always are during training around Nya. This isn't something to hide from us Cole."
"Now you're just talking nonsense I'm completely fine!"
"I know you're lying." Jay's tone dropped from his normal to a serious one. "This is a problem Cole, it's a problem for your mental health and while this doesn't take too priority it's gonna be a problem if you ever have to work with Nya on a mission."
Cole slumped not responding making a silence fall over to two friends, he crashing of the waves made Cole tense which Jay took note of. "Cole..."
He looked up from the sand into Jay's electric eyes. "Speak to master Wu about this he may be able to help. The problem won't be fixed right away... Maybe not at all but it's worth trying. This isn't your fault and it's not a problem you need to take full responsibility for."
He smiled grabbing Cole's hand and lifting it up making the earth ninja's cheeks turn a small pink. " After all, that's what families for! We stick together."
Cole now smiled along with Jay. "Yeah... Family."
