"I have walked through the ruins of an empire as it fell through the passageway of time. I have witnessed star after star exploding like fireworks, as I fixed my gaze light years into the sky. And I was only a pinprick of dust on the day they split the atom. I had yet to learn the most destructive thing in the world is the quiet yearning between two people who long to find their way back to each other."

Taraa's POV

When I opened my eyes and recalled the things from last night, I realised that Jungkook was not beside me. Grabbing my phone from the bedside table, I looked at the time. Given that it was still the middle of the night, the absence of Jungkook was kinda odd. I kept lying in the bed, assuming that he might be in the washroom.

When my body adjusted itself to the darkness and the silence of the night, I heard a distant sound of someone sobbing. I listened closely for quite some time to confirm myself that it was coming from my living room.

I hastily got up and went towards the door. Very slowly, I opened it and it was what I had heard.

Jungkook was sitting on the couch with his head between his hands, bent, his shoulders shaking. I headed towards him.

"Jungkook?" I sat beside him and called softly, putting my hand on his shoulder. He let go of his head and looked at me. His eyes were bloodshot and he looked like a mess. It looked as if he had pulled his hair in frustration.

I was shocked to see this appearance of his.

"What happened?" I asked, cautiously.

Tears kept flowing down his cheeks as he looked at me. It took him quite some time to steady himself before he spoke with trembling voice and lips.

"After you left, nothing had been the same within the group. Either more or less, it affected all of us. Tempers changed, attitudes changed. Little quarrels started turning into big fights. Disagreements overpowered the agreements. But then...we all sat down and talked. We knew that nothing good would come out of it if we continued this atmosphere within the group. We decided that the best way to resolve this was to live separately. And that's what we did. All seven of us went to live alone. With this, we were able to continue our band for 2 more years. But..." he paused, his voice choking.

"But?" I questioned, when he was quiet for a long time.

"But the disputes never totally disappeared. It always crawled its way into our group. That's why we also asked the company to stop filming Run BTS. It created more problems than it solved. A month back, there was a huge fight between Hobi and Jimin. If not for Yoongi-hyung, I don't think those two would have talked to each other ever. Even though it passed, Namjoon-hyung called for a meeting. Or more like a warning. He said that if such things kept happening, we all would end up going our separate ways. On bad terms. He warned us that if another such episode happened, he would talk to PD-nim about...disbanding. And what surprised me was the fact that none of us disagreed with him."

My eyes widened and I couldn't believe my ears. I couldn't even imagine how bad the situation would be that Namjoon himself was talking about disbandment.

Suddenly, it hit me.

"Who was on the call, Jungkook?" I asked, my voice shaking. He looked at me, and his eyes were so red that it looked painful.
