"A happy family is but an earlier heaven."

Taraa's POV
I was already on cloud nine when I reached my home. I frantically recited all the events that had occurred at the park to my parents and brother and how I had succeeded in inviting BTS for dinner.
"They won't come." my brother said abruptly.
My brother, Ryan Song, is a young man of 21. His tousled light black hair with loose clothes on him, gives him a look of thug. But when he dresses himself up for office, with wavy hair and spectacles, it is hard to believe that it's the same person. My friends believed that he is quite handsome but I strongly disagree with them.
And right now, I want to punch that confident face.
"And why the hell do you think so?" I asked, irritated.
"Why, you ask? Because, idiot, they are not someone from neighbourhood whom you invite and expect them to come just because you invited." he said.
"So what if they are celebrities. They promised me and I have complete faith in them. You just wait and watch." I said confidently.
"Let's see who waits and for how loooong." he drawled and smirked.
My wall of patience broke and I went over and slapped him hard on his back. But he just laughed evilly because he was now used to such beatings. After all, 17 years were something.
_______________
The sun was setting and my anxiety was rising. I glanced at the clock at every 5 minutes, although BTS hadn't told me any exact time of their arrival.
Finally the night fell and the clock striked 8. But there was no sign of them.
A few minutes later, the bell rang.
I hurried over to open the door but probably, for the first time in my life, was slightly disappointed to see my father standing at the door. He had just returned from the office.
"Are they here yet?" my father whispered and peeked inside the house.
"No, not yet. But they must be coming anytime now." I answered and stepped aside to let my father enter the house.
9 o'clock...
10 o'clock...
I was standing in the balcony for past half an hour, looking out the streets for any silhouette of a black car. But there was none.I was growing impatient and ran to the door at even a slightest noise.
"I am telling they won't come. Stop fooling yourself. It's already 11 o'clock now. Come, let's eat." my brother said calmly.
I hated to admit that how painfully right he was.
They didn't come. They won't come.
I sat down to eat dinner with my family even though I had no appetite. I just wanted to mask my anguish. After eating dinner, I excused myself and immediately went to bed. My brother insisted for a game of carrom but I declined his offer.
I knew he was just doing it to make me feel better, but he would never admit it. He is a person who puts all his feelings into actions. Words are not really his territory.
I lied in bed and tried to calm myself down. I really was a fool to believe that they would come. Tears were stinging my eyes and blurring my vision.
I was hurt.
Because of BTS.
And because of my frigging naiveness.
But there was one more thing that I never imagined BTS would make me feel.
Disappointed.
I was disappointed because it was a promise. And they broke it.
I closed my eyes as a single tear rolled down my cheek.
_______________
I woke up as bright sunlight hit my face, almost blinding me. I covered my face with the covers and tried to fall asleep again. It was a failed attempt. I grabbed my phone kept on the bedside table to see the time.
9 o'clock.
Just 12 hours ago, I was so eagerly waiting for something that was never actually meant to happen. I bitterly smiled at the thought.
I got up and went directly to take a bath. After dressing up, I went in the kitchen and started helping my mother to prepare breakfast. To my surprise, even my brother was up early today. Strange.
"Now it's play time." he said after eating breakfast and yanked me up from my seat.
I was still feeling down during breakfast due to yesterday's events but tried my best to hide it. But I think my face gave away the truth.
"You wouldn't sit still until then, right?" I asked, raising both eyebrows.
"Bingo!" he said and pointed his index finger at me. "Father will also play. It's weekend after all."
"Me? Okay." my father said, as he folded the newspaper he was reading and put it down on the table.
"I will be the substitute." my mother announced from the kitchen.
"Bring the equipments." my father dramatically ordered my brother.
Oh God! I just love my family.
Everybody's doing so much to cheer me up. I should probably stop acting like a spoiled child.
I decided that I would regard the invitation as a dream. Because deep down I knew that forgetting was impossible.
"Aren't we playing carrom?" I asked confusingly, as I saw my brother bringing the toy pistols and fake bullets from his room.
"Day change. Game change." he declared and handed me a loaded toy pistol.
"O-Okay, let's play!" I said, as a small curve formed on my lips.
