It was early afternoon, Kayla, Dave's sister, had come over with her kids to see Cassidy and Bella. The kids were currently playing while the pair talked in the kitchen. Kayla refused to go and see Chelsea unlike Dave, anytime she tried to help Chelsea would hurl abuse at her. She'd tried too many times and sadly lost faith in getting anywhere.

"What's all of this?" Kayla asked seeing a bunch of notebooks and sheets of paper on the counter.

"Oh nothing." Cassidy said piling everything up.

"It looked interesting."

"Can you keep a secret?"

"Always." Kayla said sipping her coffee.

"I found a bunch of old things that were my moms. She was writing a book, like an autobiography. So I thought about finishing it and publishing." Cassidy said, she was sick with anxiety when she found all of these things. But a part of her was excited to be able to keep her mothers story alive, she was an amazing women and she wanted everyone to know.

"Seriously?! That's great when do you think you'll be done?"

"God knows there's a lot to her through and I doubt the publishing party will be easy."

Kayla knew Cassidy had struggled since losing her mother so she hoped this all worked out for the best.

I sipped my tea as I read over the last thing I wrote. Since Kayla left I'd been writing non stop. Finding out my mom had plans to write a book is insane. It's been nearly four years since her passing, but it doesn't get easier no matter what anyone says.

Bella walked over to me pouting and rubbing her face. This little girl had been miserable since Dave left.

"You think your cute pout gonna get you anything?" I asked.

I reached over and grabbed the bottle I made and handed it to her. She pouted and plopped on the floor with her bottom lip poking all the way out.

"Baby drink it." I encouraged, did I mention this baby is the most stubborn person ever?

She put it down and started crying. My phone started ringing and it was Dave FaceTiming.

"Why my twin crying?" he asked with a frown on his face.

"Cos she ain't getting no boobs." I said, she wasn't a fan of bottles but she'll have to eventually.

"Stop being mean pop a titty." he said making me chuckle.

I hopped off the stall and grabbed my phone, as I walked into the living room she followed me.

"How's it going?" I asked turning the tv on

"Aight. Cam's finals going good and he's about to be done real soon."

"That's good. You talked to him about moving yet?" I asked, we'd talked about it yesterday.

"Not yet imma wait a little, he stressing enough."

"Mommy." Bella sniffled

I re head down and picked her up, she popped her head in the camera. She smiled seeing Dave showing her gummy yet toothy smile.

"You being good fa mommy?" he asked and she nodded confidently.

"Whole liar." I said shaking my head.

"Watchu do today?" he asked rubbing his beard.

"Kayla came over with the kids. We took them to the park then came back here for some lunch."

"She talk to you about Chelsea?"

"I mean I brought her up but Kayla really wasn't phased."

Dave sighed, I know he wishes he could stop caring like Kayla has. But I know it's not that simple for him. We talked back and forth while I got Bella and myself ready for bed. I set the phone beside me and eventually drifted off to sleep.
