𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 & 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

𝗢𝗺𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁.

The rain outside was stopping Cassidy from being drowned by her thoughts. She wasn't being discharged just yet. She was sitting up staring into space. Both Dave and Kyrie were asleep. The door opened and Robyn walked in. Her heart shattered of the news that baby girl didn't make it. She rushed over as soon as possible hoping to be some type of help.

"I bought food, I can't imagine the food here." she said before setting a bag down.

"You didn't have to." Cassidy shook her head, she appreciated the gesture but just wanted to be alone.

"Well I did. And I dropped off a present at the house for you and baby boy. I know it's stupid but how are you feeling?"

"I've never felt so exhausted in my life." Cassidy said keeping it short and sweet.

"Hopefully you might feel a little better being home. When are they discharging you?"

"Hopefully this afternoon."

"You guys need anything?"

"No were good. You have work anyway."

"I called in sick." she waved off, when Robyn called to check on how the delivery went she felt her heart sink once Dave relayed the news. So called in sick and rushed over, but she's now realising it wasn't the best choice.

After a little while she left since she felt like she'd more than over stayed her welcome. Cassidy decided to eat since she had an appetite this morning. Dave woke up not too long after.

"Shit." he mumbled as he got up to click his back.

"You hungry?" Cassidy asked.

"Where you get this?"

"Robyn stopped by." she said handing over the second container.

"You okay?"

He nodded and sat down to eat. Once she was done, Cassidy got herself up and in the bathroom. She didn't want to shower in the hospital but she felt nasty. Once she was done she looked in the mirror seeing her belly was a lot smaller but was full very much visible.

As soon as Cameron heard the car pull up he quickly jumped up and rushed to the door. As he opened it Dave was walking up with the car seat which he didn't hesitate to take.

"Take him outta the cold." Cameron nodded and carried the car seat all the way to the nursery.

He set the seat down before moving the hood back so he could clearly see the baby. Not wanting to hold him he just looked at him, hoping he wouldn't wake. The door opened and Dave walked in.

"You scared of him or some?" Dave questioned.

"Nah..he just look..peaceful." he shrugged off, he wasn't used to behind around babies. Since he lived away from most his family he wasn't around when his cousins were babies other than Bella.

"Mhm, Bellz asleep?"

"Uh yeah she fell asleep in my room. I put the other bassinet and crib in the basement." Cameron thought it might be a good idea, it was bound to make Cassidy more emotional seeing the second crib.

"Thank you, go sleep or sum you look like you need it." Dave said.

"You look like you need it." Cameron corrected, the bags under Dave's eyes were more than noticeable.

"You got a point." Dave mumbled, he crouched down and scooped up Kyrie and put him into the crib.

"Is Ma okay?" Cameron asked knowing it was probably a stupid question.

"She's in bed, go see her." Dave motioned towards the door with his head.

"What if I say sum stupid." Cameron had been trying to rehearse what to say but everything sounded wrong.

"You always say some stupid." Cameron smacked his lips at Dave's stupid reply.

He made his way to the main bedroom and knocked on the door. Once he heard come in he entered, trying to ignore how exhausted she looked. Cassidy's eyes were bloodshot red and tired.

Cameron didn't know what to say, so he laid beside her instead. He rested his head on her arm. She kissed his head before resting her head back and closing her eyes.

"I'm sorry." he mumbled sincerely.

"Let's not talk about it, you look tired. You didn't sleep last night?" she asked and he shook his head no.

Cassidy's hand played in his hair with her tired eyes flickering in and out of sleep. Cameron fell asleep as soon as he felt comfortable. It wasn't long before the door opened.

Dave stopped in his tracks when he saw them asleep. He quietly walked over and pulled a blanket over them, he kissed them both on the head before walking to the main bathroom. He needed a long shower but didn't want to wake them by using the bathroom connected to the room.

It was around one in the morning when Cassidy woke up. She looked down realising she hadn't moved once from when she originally fell asleep with Cameron beside her. She looked next to her seeing Dave fast asleep, mouth wide open and everything.

Carefully she got up and used the bathroom before freshening up. She slept through me sing she didn't have a chance to pump. So her chest was aching, she headed to the nursery to grab the breast pumps.

She peeked over to look at babyboy, he was asleep for now. So Cassidy sat down in the rocking armchair and pumped for the next twenty minutes.

Once she was done she got some bags of milk situated before going back to check on Kyrie. This time he was awake his eyebrows were furrowed, before he could cry she scooped him up.

After a diaper change all Kyrie wanted was milk. So Cassidy got comfortable in the chair and slipped her T-shirt up. She carefully shifted him a little so he was able to latch on.

Gently she rubbed his cheek waiting for him to be done. She grabbed his muslin and wiped his mouth before carefully holding him up right to burp him. After some snuggles he was fast asleep, she laid him back in his crib and quietly walked back to her room.

As she got back into bed Dave woke up. "Where did you go?" he mumbled before moving closer.

"I had to pump and Kyrie woke up." she said before letting out a tired breath.

"He's okay?" Dave asked before quickly sitting up, he was worried that Kyrie had woken up crying but didn't wake up.

"He's fine baby." she assured before closing her eyes.

Dave gave her a kiss goodnight before resting his head on her. Subconsciously his hand found it's way to her stomach, even after she gave birth to Bella he did the same. Surprisingly it bought comfort to Cassidy and helped her fall back asleep.
