Vol. 4 Part 8: Evolution

No one's POV:

Outside of her home on Patch, Yang made her way into the shed and takes the tarp off of her motorcycle.

Taiyang: I don't remember saying that you were ready.

He is leaning against the frame of the open shed door, arms crossed.

Yang: (without turning around) Oh yeah? You're gonna try and stop me?

Taiyang: (chuckling) No. I think I'm still too sore after our last fight. I just wanted a better goodbye than a letter. And, I also have a question for you.

Yang turns around.

Taiyang: Where are you going?

Yang: What do you mean?

Taiyang: (moving into the shed) Well, despite asking him numerous times not to, I know that Qrow told you where your mother's been at these days. I know how much you wanna see her. I've stopped you in the past, but I won't anymore. And we both read the note. We know your sister's headed to Mistral. So, where are you going?

Yang looks down at the tarp as Taiyang makes his point. She remains gazing down for another couple of beats before looking up at her father. Her eyes narrow in determination, her decision made.

Yang: Will you look after Arian?

Taiyang: I promise I'll take the best care of him. He's my grandson after all. And he'll be waiting for his mother... and his father.

Yang smiled, but inside, she felt only fear. How will he take the news that he has a child?

Meanwhile:

The three of you finally made it to the abandoned town. At closer inspection, it appeared as if the whole town had been torn apart. Once close to the center of town, you all stopped and looked around

Jaune: Oh, man.

(Y/N): You can say that again.

Ruby: Come on.

You continue forward.

Ruby: Any of these places look like a pharmacy?

(Y/N): I can't even tell. This place is too banged up.

Ruby: Ren really didn't want to come here, did he?

Jaune:Uh... didn't seem so.

Ruby: Do you know... why?

You looked at Jaune, knowing what he was thinking.

Jaune: (sighs) I think I have a pretty good idea...

You turned and saw an abandoned building.

(Y/N): Look. Let's leave Qrow in there where it's safe and search the place.

Jaune: Works for me.

Ruby simply nodded.

You and Jaune walked inside the remains of the building and gently placed Qrow down. You then made your way back outside and the three of you split up. You came across a small building which, once near, you picked up the scent of chemicals.

(Y/N): Maybe it's a doctor's office.

You then walked inside the building which had a bashed in door. You scoped around until you came to a door near the back and once you opened it, you were met with the sight of a table within what seemed to be a medical room.

(Y/N): Must be some kind of animal Hospital. The medicine here won't be any- AAHHH!

You fell to the ground and clenched your chest in pain. It felt like your insides were being rearranged.
