RWBY: Remnants Hybrid (Yang Xiao Long x Male Reader)

Vol. 7 Part 3: Quite The Party

No One's POV:

It's been a few days since you began doing Salem's work. Now you were in an abandoned Dust mine, cloaked and sticking to the ceiling like a spider. Below you was what you could only assume to be one of the so-called Ace Ops you've heard about. With him was Blake and your wife Yang. You've tried to keep her safe by keeping away, but no more. You need to see your wife.

Marrow: Hey, have you two ever thought about branching out a little? You always pair up, but I don't know if your styles really-

Yang's eyes turn red upon spotting a Beowolf that comes running towards them and uses the recoil from her weapons to launch herself at it and punches it in the head. She then rapidly attaches several explosives to its abdomen thanks to her new upgrades and slides between its legs to get behind it. Blake tosses her sickle to Yang, who stabs it into the Beowolf's chest and fires Ember Celica to launch the Beowolf into the air. Blake tugs on her ribbon to throw the Beowolf toward two more Beowolves closer to the mine entrance, at which point Yang's explosives go off, killing all three. Marrow watches the whole event and turns back to Blake and Yang, who give him disapproving looks.

Marrow: Really, really good stuff! Yeah, keep it up. Well that wraps up everything here, let's head back.

They start to make there way towards the exit when Yang turns around and looks at the ceiling. She can't see anything, but something is telling her that there is something there.

Yang: You guys go ahead, I'm gonna make sure we got the rest of them.

Marrow and Blake nod and head outside. Yang turns back to see you fall from the ceiling and the two quickly rush into the others embrace.

Yang: Oh gods! I thought something happened to you!

(Y/N): I'm sorry. I had a hard time sneaking into the city.

Yang: I'm just glad you're ok. Come on, let's get to the others-

(Y/N): No. No Yang, I can't do that. If Atlas finds out what I am they will never stop until they kill me.

Yang: Then what will you do?

(Y/N): I'm going to keep fighting from the shadows. You keep doing what your doing.

Yang: Where will you go?

(Y/N): There's an abandoned warehouse in Mantle that I've been sleeping in. It will do for now.

Yang: Ok... don't keep me waiting. I love you.

(Y/N): I love you too.

The two of you embrace in a loving kiss before Yang makes her way back to her friends. You on the other hand sprout your wings and take flight as soon as they're gone.

Time Skip:

It was now dark and Watts was looking out over the city of Atlas as you came up from behind him and took in the view for yourself.

(Y/N): What have you been up to?

Watts: I have a plan to get into Altas systems. Just do exactly as I tell you and don't get-ACKK

You cut him off by grabbing him by the throat.

(Y/N): Don't forget who's in charge, old man!

Watt: Yes my lord! I'm sorry!

You reluctantly released him.

(Y/N): Now, tell me this plan of yours.

Time Skip:

There was an election for Atlas council, and competing was Jacques Schnee and Robyn Hill. Robyn was throwing a victory party, despite the election not being over, and now it was your time to sabotage it. Watts is on a roof watching live drone footage of the party on a screen projected from his Scroll while communicating with you. Next to the live drone feed is a recorded video of Penny fighting Sabyrs in the streets of Mantle. In the windows behind the live and recorded footage, there is a Mantle election map and the live election results screen with the numbers erased. Watts taps the screens of an array of Scrolls laid out in front of them, and the screens light up. He adjusts one of his rings, and all eight of them light up. He strikes a pose with his hands in the air.

Watts: Are you ready my lord?

You are standing off to the side of the party, wearing a dark robe with the hood up and covering your face.

(Y/N): I am.

Just then, you caught a familiar scent, four of them. You recognize them as Ruby, Nora, Ren and even Penny. It was quite the surprise to find out she was alive. She was a good friend, but if it's between giving your son a safe world to grow in or putting her down... well that's a no-brainer.
Robyn was on the stage ready to give a toast.

Robyn: The polls are about to close. Twelve, eleven...

Ruby was looking around until she saw you. She couldn't tell that it was you, but she knows a suspicious character when she sees one.

Crowd: Ten, nine, eight...

Ruby started making her way through the crowd.

Crowd: Seven, six, five, four, three-

She then sees you going for the power box to the building. She gasps and reaches out toward the stage.

Ruby: Watch out!

Ren opens his eyes and looks in Ruby's direction. All power in the building shuts off. The crowd murmurs in confusion. May and Joanna are leaning against the wall opposite from the stage, looking up at the lights. Ren and Nora hold onto each other, looking around with confusion and worry.

Watts: (comm) Go.

Watts swipes his hand across his Scrolls, lighting up their screens.

You dashed forward and through the crowd, slashing apart anyone who was in your way. Body after body dropped as you demonstrated your lust for violence.

Marrow: (over communicator) Penny, what's going on over there?

Penny activates her night vision and looks to see you slashing apart another civilian with your claws and then punch a hole through another. Penny drew her Floating Array and points the blades at you.

Penny: You there! Stand down!

You looked to see her and realized she also had night vision and could see you. This did not stop you from continuing your rampage however and you continue to strike down civilians.

Watts continued waving his hands around, while his screen showed recorded video of Penny fighting Sabyrs, live footage of you attacking the party goers, and 3D models of you and Penny. As he moves his hands, the model of you and the real you in the live footage each gain a cyan outline. Shortly after, the Penny model and the real Penny in the recorded video gain cyan outlines as well.

Marrow: (over communicator) This is Ace Operative Marrow, requesting immediate assistance!

Watts looks at a Scroll that is showing Mantle's election map, causing the colors to change in Jacques' favor. He swipes his hand across other Scrolls, causing their screens to light up.

Robyn and Fiona stand back to back on the stage, weapons drawn.

Robyn: Huntresses, to me!

Fiona looks back at Robyn, unaware that you had pounced towards her. Unfortunately by the time she noticed, you had clawed at her, slashing her throat open. Fiona cried out in pain as blood splattered from her now open neck and dropped to the ground, while you leaped over her body to face Robyn. Hearing Fiona's bloody scream, Penny turns to the stage.

Penny: Robyn!

Penny activates her jets and flies toward the stage. You rose up behind Robyn, and Penny tackled her out of the way. Your work however was done, and you burst out your wings and made your way to the sky light in the ceiling. Meanwhile, Watts watches a video on his screen titled MNTL_SECURITYCAM_PENNY_001. The video depicts Penny standing among the party-goers, swinging her swords at them. You landed on the roof next to him.

(Y/N): Did it work?

Watts: It did my lord.

(Y/N): Well done.
