RWBY: Remnants Hybrid (Yang Xiao Long x Male Reader)

Vol. 8 Part 2: Let's go For a Ride

No One's POV:

Qrow and Robyn are stuck in Atlas prison thanks to you. Qrow could only sit and contemplate his guilt. Robyn on the other hand was trying to help Qrow's mood.

Robyn: You should have seen the look on Joanna's face. I don't think she'd ever lost a fight before that. At least, not fair and square.

Met with silence, Robyn sits up and looks over at Qrow and then Jacques who swats frantically as a fly buzzes around his face.

Robyn: (sighs) Tough crowd tonight. Guess Ironwood should have paid for better cell block entertainment.

As she speaks, Robyn stands up and stretches, walking over toward Qrow's cell. Her joke succeeds in earning a small chuckle from Qrow.

Robyn: And he smiles. Did I win?

Qrow: Hey, it's your game. I don't make the rules.

Robyn loses her cheerful demeanor.

Robyn: I'm sorry for what happened. But this had nothing to do with you.

Qrow: It has a lot to do with me, though. That boy and I had been through a whole lot together. The one person who could be around me without getting hurt by my semblance. I took him in after his parents, adopted parents, were killed.... He was like my son.

Robyn sadly looks at her hand, listening to Qrow.

Qrow: A while ago, I said something to him... something that hurt him... after he did something.

Robyn: What did he do?

Qrow: He knocked up my niece and the two of them secretly got married.

Robyn: Wow....

Qrow: I never should've said what I said. Maybe if I didn't.... He wouldn't have become the monster he always believed he was...

Robyn: Believe it or not, I know a little of what that's like.

Qrow looks up at Robyn.

Robyn: I always used to want a family. A house, a husband, a little one. (Chuckle) I always wanted a son. But my home, my people, I always knew that they would always have to come first. So I gave up my only chance of having a family, and I've been choosing my home ever since.

She places her hand on the cell wall. Qrow sees this and places his hand in the same place.

Meanwhile:

Thanks to Pietro's help, Yang, Oscar, Jaune and Ren have hover bikes for transport. They've been doing all they can to help the people. Right now, Yang is riding her bike while being chased by a Teryx. Ren and Oscar are following them on a side street while sharing another hover bike with Ren as the driver.

All the while something else was on their trail.

Oscar: Ready?

Oscar pulls out a grenade. Yang takes a couple of shots at the Teryx to slow it down.

Yang: Now!

Ren turns right and cuts in between Yang and the Teryx, allowing Oscar to throw the grenade in the Grimm's path. It explodes in a flash of wind dust, launching the Teryx into the stone bridge, breaking one of it's wings and knocking it to the ground.

Yang turns her bike around and smirks at the Grimm. She moves the bike to the the side, allowing Jaune to charge at the Teryx while standing on his hover bike, with the barrier dust on his shield active. He successfully decapitates the Grimm, after which he has some trouble maintaining his balance on the bike. He lands on it properly while giving a nervous chuckle.
