There was one thing I was quite sure of as I walked towards the car: the clicking of my heels against the smooth ground was bothering these men more than my father's death. They kept shooting glances at me and then back at my heels with a furrow of their eyebrows.

I walked towards the car and got inside, ''You know where to go.''

The driver nodded at me from the mirror and began driving away while I kept myself busy on my phone scrolling through previous messages and some photos.

Sometimes I liked to remind myself of my childhood which had short-lived happiness.

Dropping my phone into my purse I looked at the view outside from the window.

The entire city was bathed in light. People could be seen laughing and chatting with friends and family. There was a time I wished for a life like this but now I no longer wanted it. It was a lost cause.

A normal life with night outs on Saturdays and high school reunions were all out of the picture the moment I was born into a Mafia family.

Life sucked at times. But I had to toughen up. Especially now.

Getting out of the car I walked inside the bar, the security letting me pass before all the people the moment they laid eyes on my face.

Strutting around for a while I sat in the VIP lounge, surrounded by men getting drunk with younger women on their laps.

All local gang leaders or rich bastards.

Rolling my eyes at their stupid hormones I caught the eye of a server who nodded at me, walking professionally with the tray to get me my drink.

My eyes followed him as he talked to the bartender shortly. Gazing around, my eyes landed on one particular eye-catching creature.

Skin like ivory, hair so dark I almost mistook them to be black, strawberry red lips, innocent brown eyes, a sweet smile adorning those luscious lips.

What a beauty.

My eyes were trained on her out of all the people in the bar. Even when the server brought the glass of alcohol I still kept my gaze only on her.
