I climb in Chyenne's window, careful not to make any sound. I can hear Kelsey walking into the bathroom getting ready to wash up before she meets my father for breakfast.

I close the window silently, tiptoeing over to Chyenne's bed and sliding in next to her. It's just after dawn, my patrol ended early because tomorrows a full moon.

I look at Chyenne and I can tell how exhausted she is by the color of the bags under her eyes. I let her sleep for a few minutes more, until I hear Kelsey leave the house.

"Chyenne, love. You have to wake up." I sing softly, tucking her hair behind her ear.

She opens her eyes at my touch and I smile. "Good morning lovely. How was your sleep?"

She rolls over, closing her eyes again. "It's too early, the sun's not even up yet."

I laugh quietly, slowly turning her back over. "Yes love, but we have training." I look at her for a moment more, tempted to kiss her. Slowly I lean down until our lips are less than an inch apart and I freeze, resisting the urge. Instead I kiss her nose.

Before I can pull away though, she wraps her arms around my neck, pulling me on top of her, and kisses me hard. I moan softly, licking her bottom lip and she opens her mouth, deepening our kiss. A need unlike anything I've ever felt flows throughout me. I need to be near her. I need to be closer.

Suddenly her door is pushed open and she pushes me off, her heartbeat jumping, as my sister walks in. "Let's go, you two." She says, her eyebrow raised. "You can do that later, we have training."

"Don't you knock?" I growl under my breath, annoyed that she interrupted us.

Chy places her hand on my chest, kissing my head softly to calm me before she stands and drags my sister out of her room and into the bathroom.

I lay on her bed for a second more, trying to slow my heartbeat. I wanted her, I think to myself. I wanted to mate her..

I stand to the side, watching Mikaela fight Christian, paying attention to how each of them move, just like Julius told me to. "Nice Chris!" I say as he wriggles out of her grip and spins to attack her again. "Don't hold back!"

After a second I glance over at Chyenne, feeling her pain as she tries to fight off Saemus, who's slowing down his attacks so he doesn't hurt her. He knocks her over and her back screams in protest, making me wince.

Julius stops on his way over to me, his annoyance written all over his face when she fails to get up fast enough to block Saemus's next attack. "Move faster Chyenne! Being lazy gets you killed!" He screams at her, forcing her to jump to her feet.

She stumbles slightly, but blocks Sae's next attack. "Yes, sir. I didn't mean to go so slow." She calls back, wiping her face to hide her tears as she looks at the floor before moving to attack Sae.

"Julius," I murmur to him when he reaches me.

 "Yes?"

"She's hurt," I nod toward Chyenne, my brow furrowed in worry. "Her back is killing her."

He looks at me, confused. "How do you know?"

 I pause. "Just.. a feeling.."

His brow furrows for a moment and then realization dawns on his face. "A feeling called the mate link?"
