The sun had successfully risen. The sound of Tina's chickens and the opening of multiple doors and windows would be the perfect moment to wake up to for Selene.

But unfortunately for her, her best friend had other ideas. She jumped at the sound of her door slamming open, looking at the time traveler who was narrowing his eyes at her while having his arms crossed over his chest.

Selene scoffed and let herself fall back into her bed. Letting the sheets envelop her with her eyes closed. Karl scoffed and walked to her window. He pushed open the curtains and her window.

He waved at Callahan who walked out of his and Tina's shared home before he turned back to his best friend. He knew she was awake, from the times of catching her falling asleep after training, he knew for a fact that Selene was not asleep.

Standing there, thinking of ways for payback, a thought popped into his head. His scowl turned into a smirk as he slowly walked to her bed.

Selene, who was peacefully resting her eyes did not expect what her best friend would be doing. Not until he finally did it.

Karl suddenly jumped onto her bed and bounced up and down. This caused the peacefully resting girl to bounce up and down as well.

She shrieked as she gripped the sheets, "Karl!" she yelled but she was met with his infamous giggle. She groaned and successfully kicked him off her bed.

Karl landed on the floor with a thud. But rather than groaning from pain, he laughed and sat up. Leaning on her bed and placing his arms on it before placing his chin on top of his palms.

"So, are you going to finally tell me where the honk you disappeared to yesterday?" he asked curiously. When Selene looked at him, she could clearly see it but also the worry.

She hummed and tilted her head, "I met your builder friend." She said. Karl raised an eyebrow at her instinctively, "Foolish?"

Selene chuckled and jumped out of bed before nodding. She gripped the sheets and flicked them causing Karl to move away from her bed. "Who else did you say was a builder friend of yours that I would get along with silly?" she asked rhetorically.

He rolled his eyes as she fixed her bed. One thing about Selene was, she can never start her day if her bed was not made. Karl learned in the long run that if her bed was not made then it was either she was sick or worried about something.

"Nevermind. But that does not explain how you left your house unfinished and alone." He said. She looked at him, still sitting on the floor as she tucked the sheets under the mattress.

Selene couldn't help but smile at him, "He showed me his summer home." She simply said before standing up and grabbing her towel all the while walking away from her room.

Karl scrambled to his feet and followed after his best friend, "What- You went to his home? What did you do? Why the hell did you accompany him? You hate sand-" but before he could ask more questions the door of the bathroom was slammed on his face.

"Let's talk about this later when I finish getting ready for the day Karl." Selene said from the inside which made Karl grumble but oblige.

Deciding on giving her some space, Karl decided on going to her kitchen and make her some breakfast. Because gosh darn it he knew how lazy she would be in eating breakfast. A few minutes passed, pancakes were flipped and waffles were made, Karl didn't realize that she had finished getting ready until he heard the soft sound of the piano.

Poking his head out of the kitchen, he glanced at the living room where Selene had made a small piano made out of quarts and oak wood, and Redstone. She was playing the keys softly.

The familiar tune made Karl frown, it was from one of the many movies they watched. But like everything in Selene's life, there was something behind it, a backstory.

It had been years since they watched the movie. And the tune stuck out to her, and she started to play it one time. Something Karl realized he would do when she was upset or remembered something from her past.

Walking to her with two plates of pancakes and waffles, he placed the pancakes on top of the piano which made Selene look and stop playing. Karl looked down at her, "Breakfast." He said.

Selene smiled at him gratefully as she grabbed the plate and started to eat it. And like every time, Karl started to play the same tune as she ate. She hummed as he nodded along as he played.

"Something happened..." he trailed as he finally took away his fingers from the quartz keys. She sighed and nodded before taking a bite out of Karl's infamous blueberry pancakes.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Karl asked softly. She pursed her lips and looked at the keys, "Foolish made a statue of XD." She simply said.

This made Karl freeze, the waffle that was supposed to be bitten was now halfway between his mouth and the plate. "What?" he asked. Selene let out a chuckle and moved his hand closer to his mouth.

This prompted him to take a bite and chew the waffle while waiting for an answer. "Yeah. He made a statue and in return, he's given a gift."

Silence engulfed the best friends. Selene's shoulders sagged, "I don't want XD to get in the way of a great friendship." She said with a huff. "Friendship?"

"Yeah. Foolish is an amazing person. Talented builder and I really had a great time with him." She admitted. Karl placed his plate on the piano again before turning to her.

Selene saw the look he was sending her and she chuckled before waving him off, "You're just like Phil-" "Can you blame me? Selene I thought you wouldn't see yourself get close this fast to anyone anymore?" he asked.

She snickered, "I got close to the people of Kinoko-" "That's different. You don't have that smile and blush you have on when you're talking about them." Karl cut her off.

Selene shook her head, "Don't get ahead of yourself." "I can see the future." "On the contrary, you can't because you decided to focus on the past idiot." Selene scolded him.

Karl huffed and pouted making her chuckle. "It's the truth." She said before standing up. Twisting on the chair to watch her, "Don't you dare waste that food." He said.

She stopped walking to look back at him. A smile on her face, "I can never do that to your blueberry pancakes."
