17. pink lemonade

Phil's words didn't seem to get to Selene, because after his visit, she barely showed herself to Foolish. It didn't matter if he was knocking on her door, she never opened up or she was just gone.

Foolish didn't know if he said something or she just wasn't feeling to speaking to him. So, he decided to visit him out of schedule. Walking through the path that Karl had cleared up for her, he decided on stopping by early in the morning.

He didn't know if she was awake yet or if she would know that he was visiting and would avoid him. He just wanted to see her again.

He didn't know what was about her. He wouldn't usually be bothered with something like this but Selene was different. She had made a mark in his life despite just meeting her. He didn't understand despite trying to understand it. It was all confusing to him.

When he finally reached her land, he had to stop for a bit. He didn't know if he should smile or frown. But despite the confusing feeling in him, he walked to her slowly.

There in her garden, snipping some twigs was Selene. The skirt of her pale blue dress was touching the ground but it seems she didn't care whether or not it would get dirty. All her focus was on the twigs she was snipping.

She didn't notice Foolish until he knocked on the wooden fence. She immediately looked up in shock and placed a hand on her chest, "Holy crap Foolish. You scared the shit out of me." She said.

This made Foolish frown, "I see. You do remember me." He said. She frowned back at him, "What does that mean?" she asked offended at his tone and question.

He shook his head, "Nevermind-" "No. Go on. Say what you're thinking." She said as she cut him off and stood up. "Selene. I didn't come here to fight-" "We're not fighting." She said with a huff.

He raised an eyebrow at her and sighed, "Look, I just wanted to know how you were. Because clearly, you have been ignoring me." He said. She shook her head, "I have not." She argued.

Foolish sighed and raised an eyebrow at her, "Really?" he asked again. The two then stared at each other, clearly Foolish wanted to know what was really happening while Selene just wanted to protect him.

She sighed and looked away before wiping her hands on her skirt and then inviting him inside and he followed after her.

The two walked inside with Selene offering him a seat and drink. "Lemonade would be great." He muttered. She hummed and nodded, "Okay." She said before walking to the kitchen.

Foolish looked around and pursed his lips. "So, what have you been up to?" Selene asked as she walked back to where he was sitting. She placed the glass of lemonade on the coffee table and sent him a smile.

He sighed, "Nothing much. XD was pleased when I fixed his statue." He said. He quickly noticed how tense Selene became. He sighed and turned to her, "Is it about him that you have been hiding away from me?" he asked with a frown.

She furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head, "No-" "Then why have you been hiding from me?" he asked again. "I'm not-" "Bullshit."

"What?" she asked confused. Foolish sighed, "I have been back and forth here Selene. I thought we've talked about this already." "We have." She argued.

"Then why are you avoiding me? Is it me? Did I say something? Act a certain way?" He asked again, desperately this time. She sighed and shook her head, "No. It's not you. It never was." She answered.

Foolish sighed, "Do you want me to go?" he asked her with a sad look on his face. "No." she answered honestly. "Then what do you want from me?" he asked loud and clear. Selene pursed her lips, "Be patient with me. There's still something you should know but I can't tell you now."

He hummed and nodded in understanding, "Okay. I'll wait." "Thank you." They smiled at each other slightly until Foolish looked back at the table to see the lemonade she prepared for him.

"Pink lemonade?" he asked. She chuckled and nodded, "What's wrong with it?" she asked with a small smile. Foolish shrugged, "I just haven't seen any pink lemonades at all." He argued. "I- Just drink your lemonade." She grumbled making him laugh in response.
