Foolish had returned three times to help Selene finish her house. Needless to say, she was beyond happy at how it looked. The only thing missing was a patch of flowers on the right side of her house.

In every home she made over the years, there will always be a need for it. No one really knew why except for Karl.

Luckily for Selene, Foolish was busy with a build he was doing by the general area to help her. He was guilty about it, sending her tons of lilies of the valleys and alliums to add to 'the garden.'

Selene made sure she sent him some spare gold that they mined on the third day of building her house.

But focusing on the task at hand, Selene was sitting on the hoed ground, her pale blue dress getting covered in dirt but she didn't really care. She was humming as she planted the flowers Foolish had given her.

Suddenly the sound of running was heard. Erratic breathing as they jumped over fallen logs. The sound was nearing Selene's newly built home but no amount of worry or shock was seen in the girl.

But rather, she simply continued planting, "Am I late?" She chuckled and shook her head, "Not at all." She said before turning to smile at Karl.

The time traveler let out a sigh of relief, "Okay so- I thought I wasn't late?" he whined as he motioned to the alliums that were planted. Selene looked at the purple flowers and shook her head, "These are just some of Foolish's gifts."

Karl raised an eyebrow at her, "Foolish? Gave you flowers?" he asked knowingly. She scoffed and pointed a hoe at him, "Stop it."

He laughed and raised his arms, "Just messing around like you and Foolish-" "Shut up and help me please." She said as she pushed the chest between them.

The time traveler hummed and sat down as he watched his best friend as she carefully pulled out the different flowers that were in the chest.

Karl had watched Selene do this for years. He knew all her movements with each flower. Each emotion and facial expression. Karl memorized Selene.

He knew which flowers he could plant and hold. He knew which ones were not supposed to be held or touched by him.

You see, for Selene, these were more than flowers. It wasn't just symbols or memories. They were souls.

Each flower represented someone she had cherished in the past. There wasn't much. There was a sunflower, a white tulip, a pink tulip, peonies, daisies, and a single red rose.

Karl learned in the time of knowing his best friend the situation she was in because of the god XD. He knew the pain of losing them.

So, as they silently planted the flowers on the ground, Karl glanced at Selene. It was the same every time. The flashes of happiness, anger, sadness, and regret, would appear on her face with each flower.

Each one, despite looking somewhat familiar had different stories and impacts. But all Karl did was be there for her.

Despite being a time traveler, Selene never asked anything from Karl. She never asked for one final glimpse, one final hug, or words. She let it happen. It confused him at first until she explained it.

XD was cruel to her and Karl can't do anything about it. So, in return, he promised himself that he would be there every time she would move. Plant the souls of the people she cherished.

After an hour of silence, the two had successfully finished planting the flowers. Karl leaned on the chest as Selene patted the soil around the red rose.

He looked around the garden and smiled, "I have to say, the flower grave looks more alive with the lilies and alliums." He pointed out.

Selene nodded and stood up. Dusting the dirt away from her pale blue skirt and grabbing her hoe, "Yes well I hope there wouldn't be an addition to it soon."
