****Lucy's POV****
I had been buzzing for the past couple of days considering Syd strikes again. She covertly just set me up with Eddie in front of my brother... I don't know how the hell she isn't a mob boss yet... Maybe she is... Shut up Lulu. Oh my God. I stood in the mirror looking at my outfit. After several outfit changes I finally settled on a skirt and a pink sweater. I pulled my locks up into a high ponytail and decided to go easy on my makeup. I only wore some mascara this time around. Steve knocked on my door before cracking it open.
"You're getting better. Next time wait for me to say come in before you actually open the door." I laughed.
"Are you ready? I can't be late." He mumbled.
"Yeah, I was just grabbing my purse."
"Why are you all dressed up?" He asked.
"I'm hanging out with Syd." I said, "Am I not allowed to look cute?"
He made a face at me before walking out. I don't know how Syd is so obsessed with his uniform. Every time I see him in it I have to fight the urge to bitchslap him.
"Steve, guess what?" I asked.
"Chicken butt."
"No. You look like a bitch." I chuckled.
"You should've been swallowed."
"You were a mistake."
"We were so happy before you came along." He muttered.
We climbed into the car and he smiled at me as I buckled up. As stupid as he looks, he is a pretty awesome guy. Syd would really complete him. If he would just get the balls to ask her out. The drive to the mall was quiet. I was nervous as hell and trying my best not to come off that way in front of Steve. He can't know. Which is ironic. I am encouraging him to date my best friend but I'm not allowed to date... But I am also so fortunate to have a good relationship with my brother so I'd never complain. We pulled up to the mall and I followed him into the food court. Hopefully Syd and Eddie are on their way here. I never really know how long their games go for and last time Syd was raging because she was almost killed. Apparently it gets intense.
"Where is Syd?" He asked as he gave me a scoop of ice cream.
"She'll be here. D&D runs long sometimes." I shrugged.
After a few minutes of waiting and a mini anxiety attack later I could hear Syd laughing as she and Eddie walked into Scoops. Eddie! He looks so cute. He was wearing his Hellfire shirt, almost like it's a uniform.
"Hey Lucy! Look who I found!" She smiled.
Steve looked up and saw Syd, his moment of bliss shattered when he saw her walking with Eddie. Oh Steve. Just ask her out!
"Hi!" Eddie smiled as he looked at me.
"Hey Eddie, how was Dungeons and Dragons?"
"Another savage campaign!" He grinned from ear to ear, "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, she was just going to Amp's music shop! She said something about new music earlier."
I peeked over my shoulder and could see Steve trying to figure this out. I saw the exact moment the lightbulb went off. Before he could say anything Syd was guiding us towards the door.
"I was actually headed there too..." Eddie admitted.
"Maybe you two can go together." Syd smiled, "I'll meet you there in a few, I'm just gonna ask Steve a question."
